Focus Fails When You Treat It Like a Sprint 25-Minute Show Script (Part Two)

Focus Fails When You Treat It Like a Sprint (Part Two)
Focus, discipline, productivity, burnout prevention, and long-term structure all depend on building sustainable habits—not short bursts of motivation. Focus fails when you treat it like a sprint instead of a daily practice.

Most people don’t lose focus because they are incapable.

They lose focus because they try to force intensity without building structure.

They lock in for a few days.
Push hard.
Burn out.
Fall off.
Then blame themselves for not being disciplined enough.

But focus was never designed to survive on pressure alone.

In this episode of The Black Coffee Club™, JuniorTheTruth™ breaks down why focus must be treated like a habit, not a sprint. We’ll talk about sustainability, burnout prevention, energy management, and the long-term structure required to stay consistent without constantly starting over.

Because here’s the truth:

Focus is not built by going hard for a few days.
Focus is built by creating conditions you can repeat.

If you’ve been starting strong, losing momentum, burning out, or struggling to stay consistent, this conversation will help you rethink how focus actually works.

This episode will challenge you to stop chasing temporary intensity and start building a structure that supports sustainable execution.

Hey, man, this is all about your system. You need a system, You need a system. My system of choice is the Simple Truth Minute Manual. Man. That is indeed the book and the planner. So we're picking up where we left off, because yesterday was a you know, I went off the deep end. You understand what I'm saying. I went off the deep end, and I'll give you just off the top. I'm gonna just give you some a brief overview. You understand what I'm saying. We started the conversation and we're picking back up the conversation talking about focus, not motivation, not ambition, not wanting more. But just focus. Because a lot of us treat our focus like a sprint. Because people, we us, we treat our focus like a sprint. We get fired up for a few days, we lock in hard, we cut everything off, we try to force ourselves into a whole new version of our lives overnight, just that one big burst, like that big burst, and then what happened is we burn off, We burn out, we fall off, we get frustrated. You feel me, and we say stuff like I just can't stay focused. And the truth of the matter is, your focus is gonna fail one hundred percent of the time when you treat it like a sprint. And that's the conversation that we're picking up and we're continuing to have, because the fact of the matter is focus is not a sprint. Your focus has to be built, It has to be trained, it has to be protected, it has to be repeated, it has to be sustained. You feel me. And if the only way that many of us know how to focus is by going extreme for a very short period of time, you feel me. We get locked in and we go extreme for a short period of time, and that's not focus. That's the big p word that I brought and I always bring, that's pressure. That is pressure. And just to make sure that y'all rocket with me, what happens when you have pressure without structure? I'm literally gonna wait for your answer. Salute to everybody that's tuning in to the live stream. What happens when you have pressure without structure. Salute to everybody that's that's tapping in live right now over all the different platforms, Thank you all so much. Shout out to the replay Gang, Replay Gang being full effect mode man like I'll be sure. Shout out to the replay Gang. Salute to you all. Salute to the podcast family. Hashtags JUNR Mafia, you and me life for ammediately. You're my first love. Thank you to the podcast community. Now back to the live folks and and and everybody that's that's tuning in. Dirt Game Boss said, you break facts, you break, Yeah, jelly Bean says, pressure without structure means pipe's gonna burst. You feel me thrive and glowing with Joe says chaos yeah yeah, but you break, you break, Pressure without structure eventually breaks. Yeah. So today we're gonna pick back up the conversation where we're going to talk about why your focus keeps failing while burn up burnout keeps showing up, and why the real goal is not to lock in for three days. The real goal is to build a life where focus has somewhere to live. You feel me, So you don't have to go get focused if it lives with you. Yeah. Yeah, So once again, just revisiting, we discussed that people don't really have a focused problem. It's a sprint mentality problem. You feel me. We have that sprint mentality, and that sprint mentality is amplified the moment. We have life and it gets uncomfortable when life starts to get uncomfortable and you find yourself in these spaces where you don't you know, life just really ain't comfortable. Saluted my brother Marlin. So icy sms in a building. What's up with you, bro? And you get in that space where your life is really you know, uncomfortable in you somewhere you don't want to be. Then we try to lock in, you feel me. We try to lock in. We get in a panic mode and we try to lock in, and we try to change everything all in one day. We get a new schedule, new routine, new diet, new workout plan, whole new productivity system, new goals, new rules, and just a new version of ourselves, all starting on Monday, you feel me. All of it starts on Monday, and then we're burnt out and done by Thursday. Because that's not structure. That is an emotional overcorrection. That is emotional overcorrection. You get tired of where you were, so you try to punish yourself into a new life. Salute the shelf in the LDBC in the building. I see you, bro, You try to punish yourself into a new life. And once again, I'll repeat this so that you can hear it. Clearly, punishment is not a system, you feel me. You cannot build sustainable focus by attacking yourself. De man junior, what's up with you? Bro? You cannot build consistency by overwhelming yourself. You cannot build discipline through creating a routine that only works when you get excited. We get fired up about stuff, and then we try to build these systems. None of the grace, said my ADHD be kicking my ass me too, ADHD. Shiny objects syndrome, you feel me, Just my need for distractions, my need to be entertained over being educated or over being informed, like it's crazy. These are demons that I have to like, I literally be fighting with them. But that's where we mess up. We try to build, We try to build routines when we get excited. You feel me. You build plans for your motivated self, You build plans for your most motivated self. But then the problem is that you have to deal with your real self because your real self is on the ones and tools. You feel me. Your real self is on the ones and tools. You gotta deal with your real self. So that's where we're gonna pick back up the conversation. Man, I'm really truly excited about this one. Let's get it. So. I'm hustled harder than the moment. I'm a feast on these streets. Got a revolver I told for these niggas trying to take me off the block where I pointed daily sit Bailey's out. The bottle is smoke, yes, indeed yes, And. So man, hey, man, say man, so we're here, and so we're here. So speaking of being here, let me say this, I'm in this space, real peculiar space in my life, right I am, And I don't know if it's just with my age or just where I'm at, I am becoming increasingly I am becoming increasingly short fused, short fused always in my life. You know, I usually try to, you know, be understanding you feel me, uh be be be empathetic. You know, I try to leave with empathy and and try to be understanding and whatnot. I've run out of it, man like, I really truly have run out of it. I've run out of it, man like, I've run out of it. So I don't really be I don't. I don't really have a lot of empathy for a lot of shit. Man. If that's or sympathy or patience is the better word. It's not empathy or sympathy, it's patience. I don't have patience for a lot of shit. You understand what I'm saying. So like I've become like I'm starting to become this stickler, especially like for example, like when I go spend my money places, like if I go somewhere and I go patronize old school Winstantine a building, what's up with your hommie, sou to my brother Corey aka new fab boay in the building, what's up with your family? Like if I'm going somewhere to patronize like a business, and like like we go to a spot and the table dirty, like I'm literally like that's gonna fuck up my whole experience. You feel me, I be looking at like waitresses and waiters and people like I be looking at them like you can't be serious. And so I've realized that like out of all like restaurants, for instance, out of all the restaurants that I like to go to, like you know, I like to go here for this kind of food, like to go here for their you know, I'm down to like probably like three places I like to go. It's crazy, but I don't have like the understanding of stuff, like I don't understand like like I don't understand what people are doing, like I don't get it. You feel me like if you bring me to a table and the tables dirty, like I don't understand that, Like you see the tables dirty just like I do. You feel me? It never does it don't dwn on you to sweep off from under the table like it's still dirty under the table, nobody. I don't want to sit here in somebody else's filth and eat my food like you see what I'm saying. So like, if you don't have the wherewithal, or you don't have staff that have the world with all of that the word withal to pay attention to those things, those little idy BD details and those little idy BD nuances, then and you're still paying them, then I'm looking at you sideways. You feel me? If you don't have staff who are friendly or welcoming, or. Who are are are what's the word? People who are looking to help you understand what I'm saying. If people who are Damn, I ain't. I'm not gonna trip over the word. But if you don't have staff that you know make you feel welcome, then bruh, I'm not really here for that like that, because you're gonna charge me what you're gonna charge me regardless, and I'm paying my money, and I'm like, man, you know money is hard to come by and everything is expensive. Now you feel me? So if I'm literally coming to patronize your business, you should really be intentional with providing a good experience. I'm the same way with where I go consume content you feel me content creators, I'm the same way with shows. I'm the same way with a lot of stuff, man, you feel me, Like if I'm coming to watch your show and I'm taking time to come watch your TV and I feel like you're not providing any thing that's of value to me, then I'm looking at you sideways. I don't watch a lot of new TV shows because they show me and kissing it if I'm keeping it one hundred, like, I don't want to see no love seeing with two men. You feel me, and that seems to be prevalent, Like that's the stuff that they've just given us, and a lot of it is black men making love. I don't want to see two niggas making love like that. Ain't really you feel me. I'm real intentional about you know, my kids and what they watching. I've noticed a lot of weird stuff on TV on the kid with kids television? Now, have y'all noticed that it's a lot of grown men playing with kids toys and creating content, Like why are you grown men creating content for kids? You feel me? And it's one thing for a grown man to like, have you know his son playing with toys and you know, or playing with your kids and playing with toys with your kids. But nah, it'd be like grown being playing with toys and playing games and doing content for kids kids and singing songs and dancing around and shit for kid I'm like, it's something about that that just don't sit well with my soul, you feel me? So I be running that. I be running my kids off that shit, Like, Nah, I'm not. I don't want to see you. You don't need to be sitting here watching two grown ups play with kids toys. That shit's weird. You feel me, it's weird. I don't care if it's content. Like I'm very peculiar about things. You understand what I'm saying. Nah, big dads, I stay on that. I stay on that iPad, I stay watching you know, the the YouTube history and so and it's too much stuff that's you know what I mean? Because even if you even if you take it down to the kids profile and the kids you know access on YouTube, they still be seeing some shit. They're still transgender shit over there. There's still LGBTQ shit over there. Like there's just a whole bunch of stuff with sexual innu windows over there. You understand what I'm saying. Not too. It was a few years ago. I was, you know, excited when they brought the Muppets back out, and I want my kids to watch the Muppets, and like the first episode of them on the Muppets they talking about transgender shit. I'm like, what the hell was? You feel me? I don't remember when I was a kid, all. Of this, all of this, uh uh, all of this stuff, Man, I don't remember all of this. I don't remember all of this. What do you call that? All this this this this this sexual undertones that was attached to our content when we was kids. You feel me, like, I don't remember. I don't remember that. It was just hell. You had Oscar the Grouch, you feel me, Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy Monster, like Fozzy Bear, Corny ass Like we just had regular stuff. You feel me. None of it was really access. You was managed as hell. I was managed as hell. So I used to make my g I Joes and my he Man hump on my cousin's barbies. You feel me because I was managing the motherfucker. But the end of the day, like, I don't like it was that was. I got more of that stuff from my parents. You understand what I'm saying. I got more of that shit from my from my father. You know what I mean? That managed stuff. I got more of that from my uncles and than I got from television. Television was pretty much sweet tea, the cheat in the building, What's up with you? It was straight up and down. It was pretty much straight up and down. And if there was anything there was any romantic content, it was by way of like a married couple in relationship, you know, so on and so forth. So I don't really have a lot of patience where I'm at in my in my in my age now, which makes it increasingly easy for me to really truly lock in to. What it is that I'm building. You feel me, people, And I don't understand, like I don't understand this obsession. It's a few things I don't understand. And here I go, messing up the show today. I don't understand this obsession with I don't understand this obsession with with with homosexuality, Like I don't understand straight men watching programming that's not for straight men, like I don't get it. I don't understand straight men watching p Valley like I don't get it. You feel me just just reading. I can read the damn. I can read the damn description and say, Naw, that ain't for me. I can see the pictures like, nah, that ain't for me. I don't understand grown men watching that. I don't understand grown men watching you feel me loving and hip hop, and I don't understand that. I understand me and watching a whole lot of reality TV like, I don't get that you feel me. Yeah, I don't get a whole lot of stuff I don't get. I also don't get this infatuation with prison life, like, I don't get that you feel me like this, this all this content around prison life and what happens in prison and so on and so forth. I've never I'm gonna tell you something about me. I've never had a desire to have an extended amount of information about what goes on in prison because I never plan on going to prison. You feel me never planning on going to prison? Like you got to talk to me about how to stay free and how to stay productive. You see what I'm saying, Because the people, especially the real ones, you understand kids saying now you're ADHD kicking in. It's kicking in, and so let me get back, let me get it, Let me get back, Let me get back, to it, but I don't understand that. So this this. Sensectionalism, sesectionalism, that's the word. This sensectionalizing, Uh, this sensectionalizing prison. Like I don't get it. You feel me like motherfucker. So sensectionalized staying free and staying there for your kids, like sincectionalized. Like my daughter just got picked up for a select basketball team. She had tryout, she went, she just got picked up for this select squad. You understand what I'm saying, So we like her hard work is paying off, you know what I mean and whatnot, so we excited about it. Like sensectionalize. Me being at the games, being acting a damn food You understand what I'm saying. Sensectionalize me going to the gym and making sure my shit still I can still hook off the jab because my kids is gonna like my kids are really My kids are. My kids are nice, you feel me. And so they gonna be in situations where you know, parents are gonna be upset and you know, people gonna get you know, they gonna get rowdy, and I gotta prove that. I'm like, I gotta prove it. I'm really rowdy. Yeah, susectionalize that. So that's where I'm at with it. Man, let's get back to this, kids said, get back to work. Let's get back to work. So we make plans for our most motivated self when we're fired up and we're having our emotional over correction. So you say, that's when you're saying, Man, I'm gonna do this, I do that, I'm gonna fix this, I'm gonna fix that. Man, I'm finna stop eating, I'm finna start doing this, I'm finish to start doing that. So on and so forth right, kids said, I showed my students the sentences of the Julio Fulio trial yesterday. We had a real prison conversation yesterday. Yeah yeah, yeah story Bee mean said, we had scared straight as kids to deter from prison. Now it's presented as a place for holiday. You feel me like, nah, man, and I'm gonna tell you about me. Here I go pause the conversation. Here I go, like, let me explain some to y'all, like I was a kid that and shout out to my friends and my guys that I grew up with. You understand what I'm saying. Shout out to my guys a lot of them are still my guys. You feel me like for me right now, I'm saying for me, I don't. I don't have a I could see people getting in trouble going away. This started as a youth. It started as a youngion like my homeboys that used to get in trouble and they had to go to and they had to go to Juco or Juco. I'm sorry, it was called Tiko. One of them was called Tiko. But they used to have to go to Juvi and be gone for months, Like you know what I'm saying, Like they used to have to go do stints in Juvie. I'm like Juvi, Like ah man, you feel me like hell nah, I didn't have to go to know that that shit wasn't for me. You understand what I'm saying. Here, I go twenty five minutes, see, and I have talked about a whole bunch of bullshit. So I live. I have the ability to live vicariously through other folks. Like if you stick your head in that hole over there and you pull your head out and your head bleeding, I don't have to go put my head in that hole. You understand what I'm saying. I know that whatever's on the other side of that hole will bust show motherfucking head. I don't want my head busted. I ain't got it. I ain't gotta go stick my head in the hole, whereas it is other people who are lined up to go stick their head in the hole because they think it's gonna be a different outcome for them. Never. Never, Now, I do appreciate Salute the cost sixty seven Sports TV. He talks about my sister c c Cecilia Robinson. I appreciate CC because CC is telling her story, you feel me, and it's and it's a build up to where she is now, Like she's telling her story and it's a part of her story. And salute to everybody. And I love everybody who has experiences that are a part of their story, and their story is out and it is there's a. Positive outcome. You feel me, man, But this is just motherfucker's just glorifying, sensationalizing and talking about the sh that goes on. Man, I'm cool, all right, let me get back to it. So we make these plans for our most motivated self, but then we have to live with our real self to tire ourself the busy self, distract itself, your parents, self, your working self, your your your your, your stressed self, your human self. And if your focused system only works when everything is perfect, everything is lined up, that's not a system. That's fantasy. And our sprint mentality makes us feel powerful in the beginning, like we feel indestructible. But it doesn't last. It doesn't last because that initial burst, that intensity is very expensive. It's taxing. It's taxing on our energy, it's taxing on our attention, it's it's taxing on it's taxing on. Our our our willpower. And we gotta have the What I talked about was recovery rhythm and structure. Recovery rhythm and structure. So we gotta stop. We gotta stop building our focus around emotional urgencies and start building it around a repeatable structure. You feel me. And when it comes to our burnout, we've experienced it, and a lot of us have lives that like we've experienced it, like we understand it. We have lives that are just there's the burnout, like you have it. You have a life that is full of emotional burnout, right you sprint, crash, restart, sprint crash restart, sprint crash restart, and every time you restart, it costs more, it's more taxing, it's more difficult, and you already know the cycle. And what happens is you continuously and constantly watch yourself fall off. And when you watch yourself fall off, that does something to you. It does something to you for you to continuously and constantly watch yourself fall off, and in that you don't just begin to lose progress lose The loss of progress is obvious, but you lose self trust. You you lose the trust in yourself, and your self trust matters. It matters more than you know. You need to know that when you when you say you're gonna do something, you're actually gonna follow through. You're actually gonna finish it. But if every time you make a plan it's entirely too extreme, then your routine is. Gonna be heavy. It's gonna be too heavy. If every goal that you have requires you to become a completely different, completely different person overnight, then you setting yourself up to back to break your trust again again. Does that make sense? If every time you set a goal it requires you to become a complete new, brand new person overnight, out of nowhere. Then you're setting yourself up to break that trust again. And that's why the sustainable focus actually matters, because sustainable focus doesn't ask you how hard can I go to day? Your sustainable focus is gonna ask you what can I repeat without destroying myself? And that's a grown man conversation. That's the grown man conversation. That's the grown woman conversation. What can I repeat without destroying myself? Nella, Sundays are for yoga? What can I repeat without destroying myself? Thriving glow with Joe in the gym? What can I repeat without destroying myself? My brother's throwing me be men on his boxing content, his consistent constant boxing content, his his his his kung fu video content, all of his content. What can I repeat without destroying myself? You feel me? Coach sixty seven Sports TV with him in the school and coaching his kids. What can I repeat without destroying myself? That's a grown man conversation. Phelix newna is what's up with you? Brought to you? That's a grown up conversation. Yeah, anybody, anybody can go hard for a moment, anybody can get inspired. You feel me? Anybody can have a strong Monday, But can you build something that you can still honor when your life gets loud? Can you protect your your motivation or excuse me, your focus when your motivation fades? Can you stay consistent without needing a crisis to activate you? Like? That's the real work, Like, that's really the real work. Focus is not proven by how intense you are on day one. Focus is proven when you can return on day ten, day thirty, day ninety. You come back to it when ain't nobody clapping, ain't no, there's no standing ovation, The excitement is gonna be gone. The routine feels normal, And that's when the truth shows up. Period. And the fact of the matter is, And if your focus keeps burning out, then your structure is not sustainable at all. You feel me. If your focus keeps burning out, your structure is not sustainable at all. And I ain't talking about your desire, because you might have a desire to accomplish this. I'm talking about your structure. So the desire will still be there, but your structure is not sustainable. Yeah, focus is built. Focus is built. Now let's talk about this shift so we can get out of here. Focus is not a sprint. Focus is a habit, it's a trained behavior. It's a repeated return. That's the important part. People think focus means never getting distracted. No, focus means you know how to return. You know how to return, You know how to return, return to the priority, the schedule, the work, the standard, the structure. Yeah, that's the focus. It's not perfection, it's returning how to re The stronger your havebit becomes, the more you return, the stronger your have it becomes. And that's why repetition matters. You don't build focused by waiting for the perfect day. You build focused by practicing attention to imperfect conditions. You feel me just a little bit every day. A protected block, a clear priority, a clean environment, phone out of sight, a set time, a reset after interruption, so supreme, beast box, a top my brother read in the building, what's up with you? Yeah, that's how focus gets trained. Not through dramatic announcements, not through telling everybody what you fin to do, not through buying another notebook and pretending the notebook is the transformation. The transformation is the repetition. The transformation is the repetition, and the repetition damn near never feels exciting. Who's exciting about who's excited about repetition? But the repetition builds identity. Every time you sit down and do the work, you cast that vote, and that vote for who you're becoming. You cast that vote every time you choose the priority over distraction. Yeah, you casting the vote. You casting a vote, And eventually your identity starts to change and you stop saying I'm trying to focus, and you start becoming the kind of person who protects focus. Like that's different. I don't know if you know people in your life or you have people in your life who like literally have that have focused where you can't penetrate like they have what is it, impenetrable focus. You can't penetrate, you can't distract them, you can't pull them off. Hey man, we finna go X, Y and Z now, I man, I'm head of here. I'll get up with y'all later. If you have people like that in your life, like that's an identity, that's different. You start becoming the type of person who protects focus. That's different. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah. And the fact of the matter is when you say stuff like trying, like trying is emotional. You understand. Think about when people say when you hear people say trying like I'm trying, trying, trying is emotional. Anytime I hear somebody say I'm. Trying, like trying trying. You feel me that is emotional like that is an emotional word. That's an emotional response. Identity is structural. Try like you're not trying, like I'm trying to do my best. Now I'm doing my best. You feel me. Trying is I don't know if y'all get that. I don't know if y'all picking that up, But trying is emotional. Identity is structural. And when focus becomes a part of your identity, you don't need to negotiate with yourself all day. You don't have to negotiate nothing. Focus is a part of your identity, and the structure is around your focus. You already know the standard, you already know the rhythm, You already know what gets protected and when. And the fact of the matter is, this is where we need to mature. This is where we need to mature, because if you keep needing the big emotional push to do what matters, then you have it built the habit chat you feel me you're still depending on the sprint, and your sprint is gonna betray you. That's just the fact you get all been out of shape at work and then you decide that you're getting ready to go build this thing. You feel me because. You just tired of work and you're tired of dealing with people, the people that you work with and so on and so forth, Like that's gonna betray you. That's gonna betray you. You have to have your system in place. So the question becomes, what folk habit are you actually training every day? Like you have to be training a focused habit. What focused habit are you training every day? Because the fact of the matter is you are training something. You're either training focus or you're training distraction. You either training your focus or you're training your distraction. You're either training focused or training distraction. You understand, you either training structure or you're training chaos. You either training structure or you're training chaos. You feel me like it's that simple, not to say I. About to throw my phone on throw the phone. This is real shit, No, like this is for real. You feel me. Like we're literally training something and you can't have a sprint Like the sprint is gonna fuck you up. Like that's how we get fun. We get fucked up with the sprint. I'm just gonna tell you the truth. We get out, we get emotional, we get upset that. You feel me, fuck this, you know what I'm saying. We get all on that, and that's gonna fuck you up every trip. Because because we have a life that has a lot of working examples, you feel me. We do it professionally, we do it personally, we do it spiritually, we do it a romantically, you feel me, we do we do romance. We do it romantically. And we have a whole bunch of carnage in our lives. We have there's a whole bunch of bodies. You feel me. Never got mad, You never got broke up and got mad and got mad at that motherfucker. And then what you do? You first thing you do you go outside and go catch your body. Go outside and catch your body, Hoti, go ahead and try me and try me. I'm fucking around and catch a body and I ain't playing with nobody. You took your whole ass outside and got a body. Yeah, you din winning to added something to your body count. You're a serial serial killer. Yeah, you are either training structure or you're training chaos. You're either training follow through or training excuses. Every day is practice. Now the question is practice for what, practice for what? But every day you are practicing, either practicing for focus or practicing for distraction, either practicing for structure or practicing for chaos. You're structing, you're practicing for followed through, or you are practicing for your excuses. You feel me, Nah man, that sprint is gonna fuck you up. Big Dad says that sprint is xentitaned. The DEAs is talking nasty man talk. That's that nasty man talk. Yeah. Well, when you put it that way, June like she is, the sprint is exciting you feel you can yell. That's that nasty man talk. Come on, nasty man, nasty man, nasty man. Yeah, that's you, not meinly get out of here being we like another forty minutes. He fuck y'all, won't let me get through this conversation. Let's talk long term structure so I can go. This is where Folkus starts becoming sustainable. You feel me. You need structure that supports your life, not structure that ignores your life. Some people create plans that don't account for their actual responsibilities. You know people like that. I know people that create plans that don't account for like your actual responsibilities, like your actual factuals. You feel me. Don't create plans that don't account for Do not create plans that fail to account for your actual responsibilities. You feel me, the energy, the family, the works schedule, the recovery needs, the environment. People do that all the time. They create plans that don't account for those things, and and and and then when when the plans fail, like, they blame discipline, But the plan was never honest. It was never honest. A sustainable focus structure has to include a few things. Let me help y'all, man, let me get man, y'all got me in my bag, and I ain't trying to do this. You're supposed to come. We got to have these. We got to have some more intimate conversations around this shit. Man, You got to have some more intimate conversations around this, you feel me. Coach c seventh Sports TV said, every day is a sprint for me at work. Time moves quickly when I have to get stuff done. Yeah, we got to create systems. Bro Strom to be men said, word cast spells. So it serves you best to understand the meaning of what you of what you are expressing. It's a fact. It's a fact. So we gotta have a few things right when we're putting these structures together. The first thing is clear priorities. Gotta have clear priorities. You need to know what matters most before you start, before the day starts pulling on you. You gotta know what matters most before the day starts pulling on you. If everything matters, nothing does, shout out to tifty two. If everything matters, then nothing does. And if nothing matters, then nothing gets protected. Imagine going through a day where nothing gets protected. You feel me. Second, you got to have protected focused windows. You have to have protected focused windows, not all day, not forever, a block, a container, a period where one thing gets your best attention. Protective focused windows. You gotta have recovery because without recovery or excuse me, without focus or excuse me, damn focus, without recovery becomes a strain, and strain eventually becomes resistance. You need breaks, you need resets, you need sleep, you need you need a breathing room. You feel me, not because you're soft. But because you're human, you gotta take a break. You gotta go outside and get sun. You gotta go outside, and what used to go outside? Drive around? But the gas fat out as a gallance, you feel me. I don't necessarily suggest that anymore unless you're going to get shit and get your money. Yeah, but it's not because you, it's not because you're soft. You need recovery because you're human. The next thing, you need boundaries. Focus will not survive if everything has access to you. Your focus will not survive if everything has access to you. People need boundaries, Devices need boundaries, notifications need boundaries, your own impulses need boundaries. And the last thing is review. You need to look back and ask. What worked, what broke, what distracted me, what needs changed. And that's how systems improve, not through shame through review, Not through shame through review, because the goal is not to build a perfect routine. The goal is to build a routine you can keep refining, and that's how adults build progress, you feel me. They don't keep starting over, they refine, they keep adjusting forward. So if your focus keeps falling or excuse me, keeps failing, like, don't just ask what's wrong with me? Ask what part of my structure is not supporting sustainability? What part of my structure ain't working? You feeling Let me talk regular what part of my structure ain't working? And that question will help you far more than any guilt. You gotta stop feeling guilty. You understand what I'm saying. You gotta stop feeling guilty. Excuse me. Let me make this practical everything I just said. Let me make this practical, and I'm gonna get out your way and get out my own damn way. It's forty four minutes, seeing man, let me wrap this shit up. If you won't focus that last, you gotta start simple, not dramatic. Simple, one priority once again, before the day starts, identify the one thing that deserves your best attention, not ten things, do five things, not three things. One one, one priority, one protected block. Give that Give that priority a real time window. Rather it's fifteen minutes, thirty minutes, forty five minutes, ninety minutes, whatever fits in your life. Create that time block. But this is the kicker. You gotta protect that time block. Next, the one distraction is, or call it the one distraction rule. Phone away notifications, off tabs, closed, door close. Whatever your biggest leak is, create a rule for it. Whatever your biggest leak is, create a rule for it and get it out of the way. One recovery window after focus reset, after you've had that period of focus reset, stand up, walk, breathe, go, drink water, go, grab a bite to eat. Give your mind a break so that it can come back sharp. One weekly review at the end of the week, ask did I protect my focus? Where did I sprint? Where did I burn out? What can I repeat next week? That's how you build sustainable focus, not through intensity through rhythm, not through intensity through rhythm, not through pressure, but through structure, not through motivation, but through identity. Because the goal is not to prove that you can go hard for a few days. That's not the goal. The goal is to build a life where focus becomes normal, Where focus becomes normal. Man, I got to close this shit out. This conversation is simple, but it's not easy. It's simple, but it matters. It matters because focus fails when you treat it like a sprint. Because sprints end, pressure fades, motivation drops, energy changes. Your life is gonna get loud. Life gets loud, and if you don't have structure when the sprint is over, then you're going to fall right back into the same cycle. Think about that. If you do not have the structure to go to when the sprint is over, you're gonna fall right back into the same cycle soon. To my brother Brent Fox in the building, I see you. Yeah. So here's the question. Are you building focus you can repeat or intensity you can't sustain? That's the truth. Man around here, man, we are not chasing temporary motivation. Can't do it. We're not performing discipline for three days. Can't do it. We're not burning ourselves out in calling it commitment. That shit for the birds. We're building structure, We're building rhythm, building standards. We're building focus that can survive real life. You understand what I'm saying. Where else are you gonna go? In here? Motherfucker? Tell you that we are building focus that can survive real life. Not this not it ain't this ain't about no bullshit. This ain't the the this lollipop land everybody living in did we talking about the real world. We're trying to survive real life, not even survive. We're trying to build focus that will allow us to thrive in real life. Y'all. Man, this is the Black Coffee Club around here. We don't sprint toward focus. We build it into systems.
