Motivation Has Lied to You TheTruth™ on Discipline! | The Black Coffee Club

Motivation Has Lied to You: TheTruth™ on Discipline! | The Black Coffee Club ☕️
If you’ve ever felt inspired one week…
then inconsistent the next…
this episode is for you.
Motivation didn’t fail you.
It misled you.
In this episode of The Black Coffee Club, JuniorTheTruth™ breaks down why motivation is unreliable, how emotional inconsistency disrupts progress, and what actually builds real, sustainable discipline.
This is a moment of reflection—and a reset.
Inside this conversation, we cover:
• why discipline starts with decisions, not feelings
• how small daily choices compound into big outcomes
• why comfort often beats growth
• how emotional decision-making weakens consistency
• why discipline is an act of self-respect
• how systems protect your progress
• what it means to build discipline as identity
• how to create sustainable personal standards
You don’t need more hype.
You need clearer choices.
When discipline becomes part of who you are, motivation becomes optional—and consistency becomes your default.
☕️ Pull up. Reflect. Build wisely.

Salute to the family, though, man, what's up with it? Hey man? We had a week this week? Huh man? We had a week this week? Ooh? I And it rarely do I. I rarely go back and listen to the content for the week with with this much How can I say it? I'll use I usually don't go back and listen with this much intention, you know what I mean? I go back and listen make sure the audio is good. Make sure the levels are good. Every now and again, I get caught up in the conversation. You know, I fall in love with the with the conversation and the things we're talking about, so on and so forth, But very rarely do I go back and I listen with so much intention. You understand what I'm saying. We had a week this week, y'all, like we had an incredible week here on the Black Coffee Club, and just because of y'all, just so that we clear it is one hundred percent undoubtedly because of you all and you all's contribution man to the platform, contribution to the conversation, and your desire to hell get in here and get better every day. That's what we do. We get in here and we get better. Well, let me first before we start the conversation, let me first apologize for the tardiness and having to do this in the afternoon instead of the morning. My babies had, My babies had us had a program to school this morning, and so I needed to go, you know, to the baby's program, listen to you know, the announcements, and watch them perform. And my son had a presentation on the solar system. My daughter had a song. She had to sing a song. To the people want songs, she had to sing a song. So I was just there, you know, in my full support capacity for my children. And one thing you know about me, man, it's tribe over everything. So I definitely put the babies first. They come first. So I had to put a little delay in today's conversation. But thank you all for being here. Salute to everybody that's catching this via the live stream. Salute to everybody that's gonna replay this. Replay gang and full of effect. Salute to everybody that's catching the podcast. Man a lot for the podcast family. I really truly appreciate you all. No matter where you're catching this content, please be sure to smash the light button for me. It's well to share the content to people who you feel may need it. So let's open it like this, open the conversation like this. Discipline is not willpower. Discipline is not willpower. Like just so that we clear, discipline is not willpower. That's something that has continuously come up this week, all week long. Your discipline is not your willpower. Discipline is not hyped. Discipline is not motivation. Discipline is choice, repeat it and That's why today's conversation is called or excuse me. It's designed the way that is designed because at the end of the day, motivation has lied to you. Motivation has lied to you, Motivation has lied to us. You feel me, and this is where we connect everything that we talked about this week and turn it into something that we can actually live day after day after day on repeat. You understand what I'm saying. So, uh, those of you all who are in here, I know it's fickle. It's the middle of the day. It's Friday, too, so I know y'all trying to tighten up the day. I don't expect y'all to anticipate to participate a lot. I do expect you all to be catching the replay. So rather you're in replay or if you're catching his live. Give me one word that describes your week. Yeah, one word that describes your week. Tired, focused, I don't know, inconsistent, growing, learning. The word that for me this week is is aware. I am aware. I am coming more and more into my awareness. Joe, saluting my sister, Thrive and glow with Joe. What's up with you? Love? I am coming more and I'm finding myself coming more and more into my awareness, and it's like on all things, it's like my awareness is is heightened, and I'm comfortable, you know what I'm saying. Sometimes when you're aware, it's not really comfortable. When you become aware of things, it's not really comfortable. I'm aware of things and my awareness is like at an all time high. But Ronnie, I'm comfortable with it. Ronnie says, steady. His week has been steady. So y'all give me one word that describes your weak one word. Ab said strong. What's up with your homies? Salute to you? Yeah. So for me, it's aware aware. I've been aware, just little things, little things like I'm aware of stuff with myself, I'm aware of my environment, I'm aware of things with my children. You feel me like, I'm just aware. Joe says she's been productive this week. Yeah. Yeah. So the fact of the matter is all of that, all of those words and all of these feelings that you have, all of that belongs here. It all belongs here. Yeah, So let's start with the foundation. Kid said, neutral, shed a neutral week. Neutral, Neutral. We gotta ride it. It's peaks and valleys in life. You gotta learn how to ride on, you feel me. Peaks and valleys, you got to learn how to ride on. I think that's a beautiful thing, honestly speaking, because we deal with peaks and valleys right, so we don't get with the We don't go too high when it's high, we don't go too low when it's low. A good place to be, in my opinion, is neutral. Salute to the homie, be about the farms in the building. I see you. So let's start with the foundation. Discipline starts with decisions, you feel me. Discipline starts with decisions. Most people try to be disciplined after they're tired. They're stressed and distracted. But disciplined people decide early. You feel me, We decide early. Your bedtime is decided before night. This is an example. Bedtime is decided before night. Your boundaries are decided before requests. That's a big one for us. It's a big one for me. Let me start projecting. That's a big one for me. I already got my boundary set before you even call me, you feel me, or if I hear something that's going on and I'm bad about this, but I'm gonna tell you all the truth because we ain't here and we family, so something might be going on with my family and I get wind of it. Right, I've already set boundaries before I get that phone call. You understand what I'm saying. I already know on my mind how much money I got to give you respectfully, you feel me if we can have a real conversation. Let's have a real conversation, kid. I already know on my mind how much money I'm prepared, willing, and able to spend with you. You understand me. I already know how much of your bullshit conversation I'm willing to actually listen to because we just had the same conversation six months ago. So I already know that I'm willing to spend about ten minutes talking to you about this, and after that I'm done. My boundaries are decided far before the requests come. My priorities are decided before notifications. Discipline decides early, early, And the fact is, and this is the key, if you don't decide in advance, then your emotions are going to decide for you. Yeah. Yeah, If you don't decide in advance, your emotions are gonna decide for you. So when you get that sob story and you realize that, Ah, man, you know, my little cousin do got some daddy issues and things that you know went haywire in his life. And you know, man, man, let me go ahead on and nah, you gotta decide beforehand because if you don't, your emotions are gonna take over. Man, your emotions are gonna take over. And when your emotions take over, they're gonna decide for you, and then boundaries and everything goes out the window. I'm just trying to help, period. And I know I'm not telling you something that i've read. I'm telling you what I've experienced because I've been in these spaces where I have decided entirely too late. You decide early. Discipline decides early. That's the awareness, and that's growth. Discipline sides early. All right, So this is what we This is this is the this is the you feel me. This is why I've been getting in trouble because a lot of people, and I've been getting feedback this week, a lot of people ain't feeling this. My attack on motivation. A lot of people are not feeling my attack on motivation. They're like, man, what you got against motivation? What you're talking about you feel me. Everybody needs to and and and lives for motivation. So people really are not feeling my attack on motivation or what they view as an attack on motivation. You know everybody twenty twenty six social media age, everybody's extremists. So you can't have any criticism of anything. If you criticize anything, you a hater. You understand what I'm saying. Or if you don't like something then you hate it, you feel me, Or if something's not your cup of tea, then you're a hater and you know Or if I don't agree with you, then I'm just a hater and it's and you know me. I'm I'm I'm I'm the truth. So I'm gonna tell you I'm not a hater. Motherfucker. You just stink like that shit stinks. You understand what I'm saying. I'm not a hater. You're just stupid like that idea is dumb. You understand what I'm saying. I'm not a I'm not a I'm not arrogant or stuck up. I just don't have time for your bullshit. We just talked about the same shit three weeks ago. Why are we we're still talking about the same things. Believe it or not, here Kia, I have not you been around Lakia Allen. You know this. I was an educator. I was worked on. I was an educator in the field of our head worked. I was the greatest post excuse me, I still am the greatest post secondary educator in the world. Please believe that there is not one person that can do what I can do on a college campus. Please believe that I stopped. I have not worked since two thousand and six seventeen. I have not worked full time since twenty and seventeen. You feel me? I did. I started doing my own shit full time since twenty seventeen. It's twenty twenty fast, so that's or twenty six. So what is that We're coming up on nine years? Nine years of me just doing my own thing, right, So there are people in my life and loved ones that I talked to because you know, I started my business in twentyd and eleven to just to give y'all a you feel me, I started my business, officially launched my company, my LLC, all of that in twentyand and eleven. You feel really two thousand and nine, if I'm telling you the truth. But I didn't be I didn't incorporate it until two thousand and eleven, you feel me. Twenty eleven it became official like a ref with a whistle. So two thousand and nine, we'll say that. From two thousand and nine, I've been having the same conversations with people about business and launching their business and starting their business and working their business, so on and so forth. Right, I did mindful started doing mine full time twenty and seventeen. You feel me, it's twenty and twenty six. So you have to forgive me if I do not want to have hours and hours and hours of conversation with you about why you need to start your business. We've been talking about it, or why you need to start your business, launch your business, do it full time. We've been talking about this shit since two thousand and nine. Family, I'm not finn to be motivating you. Every two or three weeks you get mad at the job, and then you want to talk to me about I launch you your business. Nah man, I'm not here for that, respectfully. Respectfully, So people, I've been getting this, y'all been on my helmet about attacking motivation. I'm not attacking motivation. There's nothing wrong with motivation. Motivation is good, just like everything else in life. It's everything. It's good, all of it's good. You just have to compartmentalize it. You understand what I'm saying. Like we talk about you know, a little Winston Lee is coming in here with the whiskey glasses. Yeah, I'm a part take in a little bit. As soon as I brave these snow elements that go get my kids from school, then I'm gonna have me a little taste. It's good, but I have to compartmentalize it. Understand what I'm saying. It's all good. This week, my sister kid was talking about getting a wrestler move slapped on her. Wrestler moves slapped on you is good. It's got to compartmentalize. It's the same thing with motivation. We got to compartmentalize it like it's it's it's good, but there is a place for it. And the place for motivation is not in the lead. You cannot allow motivation to be your solely, your soul driving force. It cannot lead. Yeah, so let's talk about motivation. Motivation. It's seasonal, family, It's seasonal motivation. Depends on your mood, your sleep, your wins, your stress, your environment. If motivation ran your life, your life will be unstable. Scratch that. If motivation runs your life, your life is unstable. Let's bicker. Let's bicker. If motivation runs your life, I guarantdemn to you, your life is unstable. I just lost a couple of people. They need to be motive. Yeah, we we just came out of January. We're in the month of February. Now, January was hype as hell, especially the first two weeks. And like I told y'all, it's the same every year. Because I told you all in the beginning of January, come m LK Birthday, The resolution shit gonna be dead. The resolutions is gonna be dead. You feel me by the time March comes around. Listen to me. When March comes around, y'all can book this book this When March comes around, Watch how silent it is as it relates to goals and resolutions and the new year, new meat shit, the gym workouts, the diet in the weight loss, the going back to school, the starting the business. Watch how quiet it is in the month of March. Motivation is seasonal. Them is the motherfuckers is motivated. Now watch this in the month of March. Watch how much motherfucking noise we gonna be making. Watch how much noise we gonna be making in March. We're still gonna be blowing down doors, blowing down. We're still gonna be kicking the doors in as it relates to self mastery, as it relates to self improvement, as it relates to our awareness. You feel me, We're still gonna be kicking down doors. As it relates the goal of acquisition, as it relates to time management. Were still gonna be kicking indoors. Watch just y'all, Watch y'all, watch, just watch, just watch. Watch how quiet everybody is in March compared to their January. Motivation is seasonal, depends on too many other things, man, it depends on the motivations existent. Existence is dependent upon too many external variables. You feel me, January is hype. When March come around, at the end of that, that first quarter of the year over with, you feel me. I'm just telling you Sunday when church singing, take me to the King, I don't have much to bring you, feel me. We filled up with the holy ghosts. We stumped down, hallelujah on Sunday, Wednesday, take it off being over. Let me see it. If you're looking for a trill type, nikka, let me be it. You feel I got to be twelve bis parked out, say you got it? Take it off, take it off? Huh. Whennesday comes Sunday we take me to the king. You feel me, all the glory belongs to you. On Sunday, all the glory belongs to you, Oh God, on Sunday, yo, then let me see it. Let me see it on Wednesday. Motivation is seasonal. Family, Yeah, case Wednesday when it's so bad. Matter of fact, we call Wednesday humpday. Think about that for a second. Let me park, let me park right here, let's park right here, or let's let's see the pause for a second. Sunday is the Lord's Day, but then Wednesday is hump day. If that don't show you, motivation is seasonal. I just thought about that. It just came to me. I never looked at it like that, and I know y'all haven't have you have y'all ever looked at it like that. Sunday is the Lord's Day and then Wednesday is hump Day and you're trying to tell me you're supposed to run your life off motivation. Motivation, Lad, motivation, Lad, motivation. Lad. I must have maybe I got. I might have a whole bunch of Christians in here. There's a whole bunch of Christians in here, y'all feeling some kind of way because y'all mighty, mighty quiet, y'all, mighty quiet. I didn't stepped on some toes, y'all. Y'all, Uh nanny said only a hit dog holler. I didn't hit. I didn't hit the dogs. Y'all be in there, y'all be in there taking communion and crying and and and catching the Holy ghost on Sunday, and then y'all be uh, y'all be a buttnaked on Wednesday for hump Day. I didn't hurt. I didn't. I didn't. I didn't. I didn't. I didn't mean to do that. Man, my fault. I'm just trying to tell you. On Monday, you listening to uh fucking Henzel, Kyle Walker and Kurt Franklin, you look so much better when you're oh on Sunday and then shed it's Dwayne Dayton dodle all night long on Wednesday is what it is. Motivation is seasonal. Motivation is seasonal. Who's ever been motivated and then it disappeared? Just put one in the chat. You ain't got to say nothing, and don't even own that church stuff. Don't own that man, don't don't don't. I ain't gonna put that on you. But if you've ever been motivated, then it disappeared. Put one in the chat. All we doing is reviewing the work from the week. All we doing is reviewing the work from the week. Let me put my let me put let me leave, by example, put my one in the chat, because I'd have been motivated like a motherfucker. Then it's just then disappeared, PuF in thin air? You feel me? Put one in the chat. That if that, if you, if you can own that you have once been motivated, you've been motivated before, and then it just disappeared in thin air. That's not failure, King Vonnie, that's not failure. That's feelings. That's the human experience. You understand what I'm saying. Something was supposed to happen when the motivation ran out, and we didn't have it. When the motivation ran out, something was supposed to take over. Motivation can get you started, Motivation can urge you, Motivation can inspire you. Right, But once the inspiration wears off, something's supposed to take place. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, King, I mean old school Winstan Lacy. I'm getting old. I got motivated and forgot because cousin, I got motivated and then forgot. Especially in these years, I be motivated like, hey, I'm about to do that. When I get back to the crib. Let me let me implement that. Let me do this, be motivated and fared up. Then I get home like man, I was supposed to do something. Man, I was supposed to do so, I mean fired up in the car. I didn't watch the YouTube video of two you feel me? Then I walk across that threshold and I'm feeling make me a because anwich. Man, give me a beer. Shit, I'm running load on this Uncle Nier's, and go give me some whiskey. You feel me? I'm running load on this punch is chance? I need a bourbon? Yeah, I need a bourbon? You feel me? Man? I please, man, please, kids said, I thought about our conversation this morning. I didn't want to get up and work out. I wanted to sleep until six. Then I thought about the system and how I wasn't in the mood, and that's on my soul. That's exactly how I was supposed to work. You got a system, girl. Fuck your feelings, y'all. Excuse me, I'm trying to pipe down on the cussoin forget your feeling, sister. Forget your feeling, sister, forget your feelings. You gotta plug in to the system. You feel me. Listen to me, sister, today was it's the morning. We ain't doing the show in the morning because I gotta go to this kid's school, So I'm gonna just watch it. We'll pick up the conversation on Monday, right sis, Then I remember, wait a minute, ha ha, let me do it. Right then, I remember, I gotta system in the place. As a part of the system, I gotta come in here every day and give the people something. I gotta give you something like you gotta get out of this week with something like we gotta review this because the way the way that the blueprint is set up, next week, we own the something else. Like we're talking about something else next week, you feel me, So we gotta we gotta go ahead on and stand over motivation real quick. Not stand over, because we ain't trying to kill it, but we were trying to give it an ass whooping and get it and let it get in place. You know, we we establish in the pecking order, and sometimes we establish the pecking order. We gotta get physical, so we gotta we gotta take a motivation back in the back cad. We gotta take motivation to the grass real quick. You feel me, button it up, box him up, and then make him, make him get in the space where he's supposed to be in because right now, motivation be out of pocket. You can't be up and you can't be out front. You feel me that if you've been motivated and then it disappeared, that's not failure. That's your feelings. That is the human experience. But here's what most people miss. Small choices have a compound effect on your life. One decision doesn't change your life. One decision, repeat it, does you feel me, One walk it's not gonna change your life. One walk, repeat it. It's gonna positively impact your health. One boundary is not going to affect your life. One boundary repeat it is going to have a tremendous impact on your piece, your peace of mind, the piece that befalls you. You feel me. One plan is not gonna change your life, but one plan, repeat it. It's gonna have a tremendous impact on your clarity and ultimately your life. You feel me. Yeah, yeah, and dig this because y'all go. This is where some people are gonna get upset, especially if this is your first time tuning in for the week, You're gonna get upset with me. Or if this is your first time ever tuning in to the Black Coffee Club and listening to me talk, You're gonna get offended by this. But it's cool. Watch this and if you want to, if you want to walk with me, if you can, if you ain't driving, or you ain't you know around some people you're on trust or whatever. Real quick, I want you to do something for me, right. I want you to close your eyes and take one deep breath. So close your eyes, literally close your eyes. Take one deep breath in through your nose, out through your mouth. You are living the results of yesterday's small choices. You are living the results of yesterday's small choices. You want to change that major because engineering was too hard, hunh You wanted to change that major. Hunh. Let me give y'all that juv the great Yeah, you wanted to change that major so you can have more time to party. Hunh. Well shit, you're not that engineer that you sought out to be. You feel me? Yeah, yeah, yeah, you decided you didn't. You decided you was gonna skip school. You ain't wanna do school. You decided school wasn't cool. Huh. I'm a leey' allan because I ain't trying to fin I see the numbers dropping, I ain't I'm cooling. I'm cooling, I'm cooling, I'm cooling. All I'm trying to say is today, February sixth, twenty twenty six, you are living the results of yesterday the small choices, good, bad, or indifferent. There are things that I am glad that I made the small choices, and there are other things I'm fucking stupid excuse my language. You feel me. There are some choices from yesterday that I'm like, yeah, other choices I'm like, nah, man, you gotta be kidding me. You are living yesterday's small choices then, didn't want to go through the process, didn't want to do what it took you, allowed yourself to get talked off thee square, allowed yourself to get tricked out them positions. Some of us didn't got penitentiary numbers. You feel me throwing rocks at the penitentiary and cashed in. You feel me. A lot of us we didn't made decisions, man, and today we are living the results of yesterday's small choices. Small choices compound. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So now I'm gonna help all of y'all. You understand what I'm saying. I was about to ask all this, but I'm gonna say it for you. What's one small choice you've been repeating. I'm gonna tell you one small choice y'all been repeating. Y'all been constantly and continuing and coming to the Black Coffee Club and having these conversations with me. You feel me, these self mastery conversations with me. Let that land for a second, and I'm here to tell you self, mastery is your direction. That's your direction, becoming the absolute best you that you can be, Becoming the absolute best model you that you can be. Small choices compound. Family. All right, let's be real. Let's be real. I'm gonna be real for a second, real quick with y'all, because I gotta get ready to get out of here. Gott get ready to go get the babies. Plus, I don't want to be in here long. It's Friday afternoon, Go get my kids. And so I can I can you feel me? Uh start my start my my me time right, So let's be real and I'm gonna talk about myself. I'm putting in me, you feel me. Most bad choices are comfort choices. Were trying to put a button up on the on the week, like we were putting some wax. We're putting some wax on the car, putting the black magic of the tires. You feel me. We cleaning this shit up this week. Most bad choices are comfort choices. Comfort feel safe. Comfort feel safe. Growth is uncertain, man, you don't know what you get when you start trying to grow. Like growth is uncertain. Comfort feel safe. You understand what I'm saying. When we choose to scroll over reflecting, that's a that's a that's a comfort choice. You understand what I'm saying. When we choose to scroll instead of researching, that's a comfort choice. When we go and say, oh man, we're gonna grow, let me go see what's going on on Facebook. Let me go see what the drama? What drama? Jumping on Facebook versus putting working in on that goal that we have, you feel me, that's a comfort That's a comfort choice. Comfort feel safe. When we chill versus preparing, or versus building, we chill. You're gonna chill or build. We choose to chill. That's a comfort choice. You understanding what I'm saying. When we avoid situations as opposed to confronting them, you feel me. You avoid people because of the way they make you feel, as opposed to confronting them and calling them on they bullshit. That's a comfort choice. Yeah. The fact is comfort whispers. Comfort whispers to you. Growth challenges you. Growth challenges you. Yeah. And the fact of the matter is, once again, it's all. It's tapped into our emotions because when our emotions are high, discipline is low. When emotions are high, discipline is low. When we're tired, we quit. When we're stressed, we escape, go back to tired. Now I'm talking about myself, man, I can't say nothing about y'all. Have you ever been so tired that you cry? You ever been so tired that you cry. The men ain't gonna admit it, but sisters will admit it. You've been so tired that you literally cry. Yeah, I'm letting that. I'm letting that breathe for a second. I'm letting that breathe for a second because sisters already know the answer. With y'all, I want to I want the brothers to admit it. I'm admit it. I'll be something. I've been so tired before I cry. I've been recently while working on that, that book and the planner. Hey man, say man, kids said, getting getting folded like laundry instead of writing it s getting her ass folded up, doing the wag dang dude, getting folded up instead of writing. Man. When emotions are high, man, discipline is low. When you're tired, you quit. Kid, When you stressed, you escape. You might escape by getting folded like laundry. Some of us might get stressed, I mean, get escaped by rolling up that weed or that reef or whatever. Y'all be smoking. Y'a don't smoke reefing, no more. Y'all be smoking at g y'all smoke that synthetic shit. But anyway, you roll that up when you get bored, you scroll. When you get frustrated, you abandon the ship. Yeah yeah, and you gotta think. And this is me challenging you. I ain't gonna tell y'all to put it in chat. But what emotion steals your discipline the most? What emotion steals your discipline the most? Normalize that because awareness is power. You feel me, anger steals my discipline the most, And anger is a secondary emotion. So it's literally a lot of stuff that ties into me getting angry, a lot of channels. One of them is disrespect disrespect. If I feel disrespected, I'm losing all discipline. I'm just gonna tell you the truth on every level. If I feel disrespect, this is the shit I know about myself. If I feel disrespect, I'm losing all discipline. You feel me. If if I'm dealing with a woman, I'm gonna be unreasonable, I'm gonna be ridiculously unreasonable. I'm gonna lose I'm gonna lose all sense of reality. You feel me. If I'm dealing with a man, it's a good chance this ship might This ship might get real primitive with us. You feel me, it might get real primitive. If I feel disrespected, dealing with you real primitive. The emotion that steals my discipline the most is the emotion that's attached to when I feel disrespected, Keith Vonnie said, impatience. Impatience steals his steals his discipline the most. Yeah, but it's for me. It's anger. But it's anger that's attached to the feeling of being disrespected. All my discipline goes out the window. All my discipline, all my all, my goddamn self control, everything goes out the window. When disrespect enters in. You feel me so so vice versa. And that's a good. This is a good Let's seek segue into this because we talked about this this week. Let's flip. Let's flip discipline. Now. Discipline is self respect. When you keep promises to yourself, you trust yourself. When you don't keep promises to yourself, confidence leaks. Confidence in yourself leaks, confidence in yourself leaks. And that's how a lot of people end up with more confidence in other people than they have in themselves because you have not kept promises to yourself. You feel me, some of y'all respectfully, y'all come in here, and y'all have more confidence in me, then some of you all have in yourself because you've broken promises to yourself. If we're gonna have a real conversation, I've been that way. I've had more confidence and other people because of the promises that I've broken to myself. You understand what I'm saying. And that's how people can fill a victim to gurus and and all of these these these quote unquote leaders and whatnot. Because you've broke promises to yourself. You understand what I'm saying. You've broken promises to yourself. Yeah, you've broken covenant with your identity. Oh that's a bar. You've broken covenant with your identity. Oh literally, So it's easy for you to be led by a rotten motherfucker because you've broken covenant of your identity. When you in tune with your identity and everything is lined up with you and you know who you are, You lined up with your purpose, You in tune with your standard, You in tune with your with what you value, You're in tune with your code of ethics. You don't really need to be led, Like I could come to you and we can connect and we can build it together. I'm not looking for no leader, No homie, I'm not looking for no leader. Looks like when y'all come in here, ain't no fucking leader in here. You're talking to a person who is in his thoughts, and I have opportunity to share information for my life, and we come in here and we're building together. When you when you've broke covenant with yourself, you can fall victim to You can fall victim to the gurus. You can get took. You can get took. Kid Allen says, disrespect throws me off too already. No, I act like an animal. I'm not fucking going on my mama in there. Nah, disrespect, man, we can, we can. We can. We can die about disrespect. If I'm being honest with you, Yeah, we can. We can disrespect. We can get we can get up out of here about disrespect. That's that's that's all parties involved. Disrespect. We can get up out of here about disrespect. Yeah, we can get up out of here about disrespect. And I'll be willing. I'll be willing to go the whole whole nine because I'm not disrespectful. I leave with respect. So when I encounter disrespect, man, I be Yeah, I ain't going yeah, I ain't going. Yeah, I ain't going. Kids says she acts like an animal. Man, I'll second that message. Yeah, what is said. I approve that message. That message is junior approved disrespect. I'm gonna do the fucking monkey. I'm gonna do I'm gonna do the I'm gonna do the monkey. Yeah, but listen to me. When you break promises to yourself, you lose confidence in yourself. Yeah. But every time you make a disciplined choice, what you're what you're communicating to yourself is a matter. Every time you make a disciplined choice, when you let your yeses be your yeses and your nose be those your boundaries are in place. Every time you go through with those things you're saying, I matter because at the end of the day, real discipline is identity. Real discipline is identity. When you can say I'm someone who prepares, I'm someone who shows up, I'm someone who honors my word, I'm someone who's solid you feel me, I'm someone who's gonna come through when you when you actually are able to have that as an identity, that is real discipline. Yeah. And the fact that the matter is for me. And here's something else, that's gonna I'm gonna put on the shirt. I respect myself enough to be consistent. Like, that's how much I respect myself. I respect myself enough to be consistent. That's a bar. I respect myself enough to be consistent. Yeah, yeah, all right, So how do we protect them? Let's talk about protection. We've talked about protection this week. Systems protect you from your emotional chaos. That's what my sister just talked about. Systems protect you from your emotional chaos. A system is a non negotiable rhythm. Like, that's what it is. A system is a non negotiable rhythm. You feel me your morning routine, a planning block that you have during the day you shut down, ritual in the evenings, reflection time that you schedule for yourself. A system is a non negotiable rhythm. And systems will carry you when your feelings quit. I remember what I talked about motivation. There has to be something beyond motivation because motivation only gets you so far. Systems carry you when feelings quit. Yeah, and if you really follow on the content. Remember I told you all that I need you all to focus on one system. Rather, it's a system that you have in place right now, I need you to focus on it and work the kinks out. Or if it's a system that you need, I need you begin to begin the process of building out that system over the next seven days. And that was four days ago. Systems carry you when feelings quick. Yeah. Yeah. And then when we talk about discipline and discipline becoming mature, it's when we start to look at our standards. What are sustainable standards? Not perfection, not extremes, not burnout, but what do we have that's realistic, repeatable, flexible, and aligned. Remember, consistency beats into intensity. Intensity is gonna impress some people. You understand what I'm saying. Consistency is gonna transform some shit. And that's on. That's on. That's on God and them people being pressed with intensity, you feel me. But consistency is what's gonna change some shit. Motivation lied to us, Yeah, motivation lied to us. Hey man, you don't need to be motivated, family, you don't need to be motivated. You need a system. So let me, let me, let me let me land right here. Discipline is not pressure, it's not hype, it's not forced. Discipline is choosing on purpose. Your life is built on repeated choices. Your life is built on repeated choices. Your life is built on repeated choices. So make your choices intentional. This is the Black Coffee Club. Man.
