We gotta be fast like flash today because I'm tardy to the party. It's I'm gonna tell you the truth. Like i got up early, and I've been on this getting up early, attacking my day, and I was doing a whole lot of different things. And now I'm realizing that I'm running behind. So I'm up early and moving but I'm behind. So I'm like, nah, we gotta, we gotta get to it. So the you saw the title of the stream, man, it's self mastery or shit, you know what I mean. For me, I'm gonna tell you, I just am in this space in my life where I am not coming off of this self mastery. I'm not coming off of promoting the message of you should be pouring into yourself first. I'm not ever gonna come off of that. Like I'm never ever ever gonna come off. Of that ever. But we're gonna get real about that conversation, man, Like we gotta get real about it, and we gotta do. Man, we just gotta get in deep, like James Brown said, I gotta get in deep. Before I get in deep, y'all already know. I'm hustled harder than the moment I'm a feast on these streets. Gotta revolver, I told for these niggas trying to take me off the block with our points up daily sit Bailey's out the bottle smoke. Ain't that incredible? Like? Does that ever resonate with you all? Like Kevin Dunbar to scholar in the building, what's up with it? Bro? Does that ever resonate with you all? That? We literally start a self mastery conversation with Scarface aka Brother Mob aka Face Mob, Like does that like that? Never? I'm never? I'm totally floored by that conceptually, Like I'm always every time I play it, and I'm sitting there and as soon as he drop and Mob say, I hustle harder than most anybody that know me. If you know, you know, I'm a beast on these streets. Got a revolver. I told you know. The revolvers don't jam. But anyway, I am. And this is the beginning of a self mastery conversation. This is the beginning of a conversation in which I'm going to spend some time telling you all the reasons why you should be really truly taking your self mastery seriously. But it started with Face mob old School instantly in the building. What's up with you? Everybody that's catching the show or the stream life really truly genuinely appreciate you. Rather you are on the YouTube, live stream, the twitch, or the kick Thank you all so much. Salute to everybody that's catching this in the podcast format, man, my podcast, man, My podcast community is so dope, man, the podcast community is so dope, man. Man, Salute to the podcast. Let me salute to y'all. Man over in podcasts land, Thank you, man. And that's wherever all the numbers count. Man. So if you're over there on pod being a spreaker, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, the iHeartRadio, wherever you are, man, and you're listening in thank you, I really truly genuinely appreciate you. Big De'skunky Doll. What's up with your family? Shout out to my BCU family, man, A whole lot of wild Indian shit. Thank y'all. But listen, So I'm in twenty twenty five, and you got to understand what we having these conversations. I'm talking about twenty twenty five and beyond, like I'm talking twenty twenty five and beyond. So I'm talking about from here forward, Like from this moment forward, the world is just moving faster and faster and faster. Technology, social media, culture, everything is changing. You understand what I'm saying. The human anatomy. That's a whole different conversation. The human anatomy and their desire to change the human anatomy, you know, via. Vaccination. It's the world is man is going, is going. And if you don't take time to embark on the mastering of yourself, your mind, your body, your emotions, your actions, then you'll constantly be you be acting man. You understand what I'm saying, instead of creating. Does that make sense? All right? So let me say it this way. You are most like God when you create trees. We are most like the Creator. When you create, you are most like Why do you think when you create something you just like you feel me? Why you think I'm batshit crazy about my kids? Because I created on? You understand what I'm saying. Like, I created my babies, Cam, I created on. I got down in there. They all look like me, trees, I was on my tippy toes. You feel me, they all look I created my babies. That is when you are most like God, and you know I ain't trying to turn this into no. You know I ain't trying to go there with y'all today. You know what I mean. And you know how sisters, y'all know, when we start having these conversations, y'all get the trip and y'all start throwing your you thought and a d MS and all that. But like that is why it's so you fork and you enter into a state of euphoria. During the. Act of making love right, when it's done right, you enter into a euphoric state because that is the ritual. It's a ritual that is the ritual to release the life for us to bring another life into this world. You understand, that's when you most like God. But you also have these different pockets where you're most like God when you're in the space of creating. Right, you're in the space of creating. And now we've gotten into this space in the world in twenty twenty five where nobody's creating. You know what people are doing. People are reacting to everything else that other people are the people. Everybody's reacting to the stuff that people people are creating. Does that make sense? Like the world has become very reactionary. Think about it. You will sit down and you will watch somebody react to something that somebody else done. You feel me you would actually this then. Got so bad, right you get so when you think about like think about like Charleston White. Salute to Charleston White. So you think about Charleston White, and you think about all the people who create reaction videos to Charleston White. Well, what is Charleston White doing. All Charleston White is doing is reacting to something. You understand what I'm saying. So now you're watching somebody. You're spending your time watching somebody react to somebody react to something else. The world has become extremely reactionary. You know why. I'm not gonna go there. That's gonna be too I ain't trying to go there. We've become reactionary, though, and being reactionary keeps you from being in the space of creating. You can't react and create. You can't react and create, you feel me, you can't be reacting and creating. That's one of the reasons why for me, I've realized, with regard to box as southing my brother boxing and barbecue, you just draw my memory when I seen you. With regard to the sport of boxing. For me, reporting on it, it's all reaction. Talking about it, talking about it's our reaction. I don't want to just talk about it. I like to write articles, I like to create images. I like to promote fights that are coming up. Like there's other things that I'm really good at and I really like doing, and I can put my heart and soul on it. So like it's you know, we can react. That's cool. But then how about we go create a publication you feel me for the real fans of the sweet science. How about we create a platform where people can come and talk about the sport safely, you know what I mean, and in a fun, safe environment. Yad YadA, YadA, yadh ydada. But when you're reacting, you're not creating. And you were put here to create. Like, I'm not gonna lie to you. You were put here to create. Ab what's good with yo? Hommi? Old school? Instantly? I see you. You put here to create, and in this new world like nobody's creating. You just reacting instead of creating. So of course y'all know, I like fives and tens. I like fives and tens. So I'm trying to give you all value today. I'm trying to set your day off with value. I know I'm a little late. A lot of y'all have already started working. Y'all. Gotta tell me what time y'all want me to come in here in the morning? Is what time is good for you? Cam y'all gotta let me know what time is good for you? Is it better for me to come earlier? Does this time work? I tried to get in here about that eight thirty hour. I could get in here about that seven thirty hour. You feel me? At shit? I used to do six thirty when I used to do the for real, for real the inception of the Punch Junkie Morning Show, it was like six thirty, you know what I mean. And we was in here rocking and rolling. But anyway, I'm trying to give you this early value. So and we're gonna do it. We're gonna do it in five So all right, I'm gonna give you my top five values of self mastery that are absolutely essential for you to thrive in this new information age, the Age of Aquarius. Like this new age, it is absolutely imperative these values that you look to thrive. You understand it's so many opportunities for us now, and people are missing the opportunities. Like it is opportunities for you to get rich, it is. It is opportunity, opportunities for you to get rich. It is opportunities for you to change your stars. Remember the Knights tell you can change your stars. You can change the trajectory of your lineage. You understand you can literally break generational curses in this new age. But you're we're missing it. Though we're missing it. We are missing it because you've falling into the trap. You're falling into the trap of moving through your life. It's a whole different conversation now, moving through your life with blinders on being reactionary, getting up, going to work, coming home, going to sleep, getting up, go to work, coming home, going to sleep, getting up, going to work, coming home, going to sleep, trying to find values and things that are outside of yourself. You're going through your life looking for validation. You want to be validated here. You want to be validated by your job. You want to be validated with your friends. You want to be validated by this organization. You want to be validated by your fraternity. You want to be validated by sorority. You want to be validated by things that you do for folks. Nah, no, no, no, no, no no no no no no, no, no. No. Validation. The most important value is internal. What is your most important asset? Anybody? What is your most important asset? Because I'm talking about we're talking about your life, I'm talking about your life. I'm talking about your life story. I'm talking about your life story, talking about your life story. What is your most important asset? What is your most important asset? King Varney eighty six said time, And that's a real good one, a real good one. Time for the shameless plug. Y'll be sure to go get this simple truth minute man. You're one hour book that will change the way you watch the clock, written by yours truly, junior, the truth. And I do believe that time is one of and when I say it, I say it's one of your most valuable assets. But your absolute most valuable asset that you have is your self. You are the most absolute value of the absolutely the most valuable asset that you have. It is you. You. I'm all on the mic. It's you. You are the most the absolute most valuable asset that you have. And it ain't even no, it ain't even no argument. You can't talk to me about no material things. You can't talk to me about no oh my children, oh my family's the most ooh shit bull shit, self mastery over the bullshit. You are the absolute most or absolutely the most valuable asset that you have is you. You. Your time is an extension of that, you feel me your mental space, killer com it is an extension of that. But the center, the center of it is you. You understand that is why? How in the hell can you get up and not spend any time on yourself? Don't You don't get up and spend no time on yourself. You mean, from the time you get up to the time you go back to sleep, you're spending time on everybody else and you ain't spend no time on yourself. You ain't spend no time on getting better. Don't that sound crazy? Don't that sound absolutely insane? You haven't spent any time on you. You got up and you have spent twenty four hours out of the day and you have dedicated absolutely zero time to yourself. Woo. I ain't know the Poe child was sick, but that's us and I'm not coming from it. I'm not coming from a space of shame on you. You didn't know that, you stupid and nigga. I just found that out. I just found that out, like damn this whole time, damn, because we wasn't raised that way. We were raised to get up and get moving, and the high achievers were raised to get up and get to it and get out and do this and do that. But you've not spent any time on yourself. And the people who really get it, they're looking like, nah, you're doing it wrong. Are you doing it wrong? You gotta spend some time on you. You feel me mastering you? So all right, my top five values of self mastery that are absolutely essential to thriving in this age. Number one, well, I won't say. I won't say number one. I won't say number one. I'm gonna tell you what self mastery means because I use this term, and y'all don't ever push back. I think it's because y'all love me, or y'all just want to see or y'all just be talking about me. You know what I'm saying. But don't nobody say, like, man, what is self mastery? What's self mastery? What does it mean, man. So I'm gonna start with the basic. Self mastery is not about being perfect by any stretch of the imagination. You understand, perfection does not exist. You feel me, perfection does not exist. And to be honest with you, it's subjective. Even the perfection that people pursue is subjective. But self mastery is about understanding yourself deeply. It's about understanding your thoughts, your emotions, your strengths, your weaknesses, and most importantly, your values. Right foundation that allows you to make intentional choices and not be swayed by every distraction, every trending opinion, or every crisis that hits your life. Crisis you understand because a lot of the crises that hit your life have absolutely nothing to do with you. Trees. A lot of the crisis situations that hit your life that have absolutely nothing to do with you, trees, you feel me. Let them folks stand on their own business, Trees. Let them folks stand on their own business. You understand them talking about Tell them, Tell them, say Junior said, your life looks exactly like you lived it. Your life is a compilation of the decisions that you made. You understand what I'm saying. Yeah, your best thinking got you your life. Tell them, Tell them I said that, Tell them I said that. But you ask yourself when when you're when you're engaging in self mastery and embarking on this journey, you say, all right, are you living by design or by default? And everybody's living by default? You understand what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. Are you living by design or are you living by default? Everybody's on default mode. You know why because default mode is easy. And if you're not mastering yourself, someone else or something else is controlling your decisions in your life. You understand what I'm saying, and you cannot live your best life. If somebody is in control of your life, control of your decisions, control of your emotions, control of your time, you're not living your best life. Tree said, whenever you say it, I instantly think of mass laws, of a hierarchy of needs. Yes, indeed, all right, the values that I have for you. Let me hurry up, I get out of here. We're gonna run through this. Number one is first. The first one is self awareness. Self awareness. It's about knowing who you are at the core. You don't know yourself like we can just be real. If you're not spending time, how do you know yourself? And you don't spend time with yourself? How do you know yourself? What are your strengths, what are your weaknesses, what are your triggers? What are you inspired by? What gives you inspiration? When you understand yourself, you can navigate challenges with clarity. Period. You stop blaming the world or other people for your struggles because you know where you stand. Self awareness is just it's the compass that keeps you on track even when life gets messy. Like, it's your compass. You understand what I'm saying, Like, period, you gotta. Know who you are. You gotta know who you are, And I'm trying to tell you like And it's people that I love, man's people that I love dearly. And I ask them about work. They can tell me top to bottom everything about work, everything about the company, everything about their career, so on and so forth, and I can ask them a question about themselves, and it's crickets, and that that. Breaks my heart. I'm gonna be real with you, It breaks my heart for me to ask you about yourself and you don't know about yourself. That's heart wrenching for me, especially if I love you and I say ask you about yourself and you have nothing to offer me about you, you feel me. It's about self awareness, is the first one. Self mastery self awareness go hand in hand. Yeah, I want you to comment, comment in the chat, the live chat and in the comment section of the podcast. What's one thing you've discovered about yourself this year that's changed the way you make decisions? If anything, and if it's nothing, then say nothing. But I want to know. Have you discovered anything about yourself in twenty twenty five that's changed the way you make decisions? Y'all want me to share? I can share one for y'all. One of the things I've discovered about myself is I have a true understanding and I am now I have a master for hole on my personality type and exactly why I act the way that I act, And so I allow myself. I allow my instincts to be my guide. You feel me. I used to be like I'm tripping and I would try to come outside of my instincts. I am now allowing my instincts to be my guide and cam I'm operating. I keeps I've been saying this word all morning. I've been operating from a more primal space. From a more primal space, you understand. If I'm feeling something, that's what I'm feeling, and I'm speaking out on it. And I'm really working at being upfront, honest and open with my communication, especially in times of conflict. You know what I mean, and that is my new conflict strategy. Be open, honest, and be direct. I'm not leaving anything to any interpretation. You understand. I'm gonna tell you exactly what it is. I'm gonna tell you exactly how I feel, and I'm not leaving anything for any interpretation. Number two is emotional intelligence. This is the ability to recognize, manage, and respond to your emotions and empathize with others. So you got to think about that. In twenty twenty five, everyone has an opinion, everybody got an agenda, everybody got an angle, everybody has their own everybody he's a social media outlet, or excuse me, a multimedia outlet. If you can't control your emotions, you'll constantly be reacting and not responding. You feel me, You'll constantly be acting, reacting, and not responding. Emotional intelligence gives you the power to stay calm. It gives you the power to think clearly. It gives you the power to build real relationships that actually matter. And it's the difference between someone who complains about life and someone who creates their life. You understand what I'm saying, Like, I can talk to people and I don't have a lot of these conversations now because in this new primal space that I'm in, I don't have a lot of time for the bullshit. So somebody that's. Just complaining, complaining, complaining, complaining about life, Okay, what's the resolution? You feel me? If I love you? Right, and this is I'm primal. So if I love you and I'm saying, all right, you know in your life, I'm here and I'm going to, I am going to. I want people to know that I love I want them to know that I love them, and I want them to know that I absolutely had their back. And it's going to be that way until you do something that communicates to me that I should not be in that space with you. You feel me? So I got homeboys that have communicated to me that I should not be in that space with them, and then they lose access. You feel me. So that's where I'm at. But I don't have a lot of time to hear you complaining about your life. You feel me, So I'm here to help you reach a resolution. Let's resolve these issues. Let's move this thing forward, right, And if tomorrow you're still complaining about the same thing you did yesterday, then I'm usually going to exit that conversation ever to return again. If that makes any sense. Emotional intelligence, it's the difference between a lot of times, it's the difference between complaining and resolving issues in people's lives. Period. You understand what I'm saying. I remember before, we used to have knockdown, drag out fights at one of my institutions, right, And I remember sitting in a meeting and attention was high, you know what I mean. People were yelling, emails was flying, people were pulling up trying to pull up receipts. Everybody was stressed. And I'm sitting there looking at everybody and everybody and I think that cam. I think my disposition and my countenance was making people even more upset, Like, man, why ain't Calvin tripping? You understand what I'm saying. And I'm just like I'm just sitting there and in the midst of everybody, you know, trying to reach this solution. I presented a solution. You understand what I'm saying. I presented the solution, and that was like, really my example of my emotional intelligence just really playing out in real time. Because I'm not about to get upset. You understand what I'm saying. I'm not about to get upset. I'm not about to be angry. I'm not about to be I'm not gonna come outside of my character in order to fit in into this environment. You understand, I am a person that I've been the environment. I don't succumb to environments. Anybody that's been around me, I don't succumb to an environment. I've been the energy in an environment. And if I can't impact the energy in the environment in a positive manner, then I just leave. You understand what I'm saying. Because you're not gonna always I'm not gonna always be able some energies, some organizational cultures, some of that is not for me. And I've left jobs before because the like literally, I've been at jobs before for a couple of weeks and have left as a professional I'm talking about an established professional well into my career. I'm at a place for a couple of weeks and I realize that they hood wing me. Oh man, I'm gone. Yeah, I'm gone. Yeah, I'm gone. I'm not Finnah sit here mm hm, boxing and barbecue. My brother said, absolutely. I start putting energy into people that don't put energy into me. Example, if I go visit family back home, if I don't get phone calls from you, don't expect to visit on my limited time end. That's a fact. Man. I'm moving in this space too. Man, It's simple for me, right, Like, this is what I do. Like, this is what I do. Right, and so people that love me, I expect them to support what I do. And if you don't support what I do, especially if I support you and what you do, then that's a red flag for me. You feel me? So yeah, I expect like people like my homeboys, my friends, my relatives, my people, I expect them to support what it is that I do. Like it ain't no, it's not even optional. You understand what I'm saying. Like it used to be. I used to be y'all, come check it out if you want to. You know all that kind of shit, like, and now I've made this decision in my life. Then now if you don't support this, then you don't really fuck with me for real, because this is like literally what I do, and it's easy. All you have to do is hit the light button. You don't even have to be here for the whole shit. All you have to do is hit the light button. You can hit the light button. You can share, you can come in and listen for a few minutes you feel me. You can turn this on while you and go into your business, like it's too many ways to support, you understand. You can share it on social media, like it's too many ways to support and so like somebody that's not supporting this platform and not supporting these things I do, like you just don't really fuck with me, and that's cool. But at the end of the day, like I'm not spending energy anywhere whereas where's no reciprocity. That's over with, that's over with, So all right, So emotional telling, I gotta go, I gotta go, I gotta go. Number four is self discipline and intentional action. Self discipline and intentional intentional action. You understand all the dreams in the world don't matter if you're not willing to take action. Like people will talk talk, talk, talk, talk all they want to. If you're not gonna take action, then it's just you just talking. Self discipline keeps you aligned with your goals once you establish them. Discipline is what is the difference between your dreams, goals and. Attaining your goals. Rather, I should say it's the difference between dreaming and the actual acquisition of your goals. It's like, it's what turns your your aspiration into real achievements. Right, it's the trophies. You understand what I'm saying. It's what takes you. It turns your aspirations into your trophies. Period. A lot of people people won't results, but they aren't willing to do the work. Self mastery teaches you to overcome distractions, to stay focused, to build habits that actually move you forward, and literally commit. To the work. Which is why like even in my self mastery, like this is easy. This is easy for me, right, And the reason why this is so easy for me, ab is because this is what I'm doing in my real life, Like, this is what I'm doing in life. You feel me, it's no different than saluting my BCU family, us getting together and engaging with each other in this space as we identify and we learn and we realize that we are the UH. I won't say realize, We openly communicate that we are the descendants of the indigenous people that's laying like this our shit. You feel me. It's so easy for us to interact with one another in the BCU area, in the BCU platform and whatnot in those platforms, because that's us in real life, Like this is us in real life. Is what we really do. Self mastery is what I'm really This is what I really do. You feel me like, this is what I really like, this is really what I do. And so it's easy for me to come in here and talk about it because like, nah, this is what I do. You understand. And so. Getting in this place where you can just take intentional action that will move you forward in life, building habits, staying focused, overcoming distractions like I talk to you all the time about, Yeah, be careful, be mindful where youre spending your attention. Be mindful, Be mindful, Be mindful. I'm gonna give you another opportunity to share. I want you to give me in a chat. What's one habit you've been struggling to stick to, you feel me, One positive habit that you've been struggling to stick to. For me, it's going to bed early, going, and it's kind of it's going to bed early because I'm an early riser kind of regardless, but it's yeah, like going to bed early is a struggle for me, and I've been recently. I've been trying to get into bed at eight thirty. As crazy as that sounds, Tree says document in my dreams, I know that's difficult, all right. Last one, man, I gotta go. Number five is resilience and purpose. That's the fifth value is resilience and purpose. Resilience and purpose self mastery. It builds inner strength to help you bounce back and back and back and back from setbacks. You know what I mean, You're just gonna bounce back and back and back. Killer Count said, Exercising exercises another one for me too. It's another one for me too, but it's the kicker. You need purpose, you feel me. Without purpose, like resilience is really is just surviving. I don't want to call it obsolete, but it's just surviving and existing, you feel me. You need purpose. With purpose, resilience goals from surviving to thriving, you know what I mean? Like you need purpose when life knocks you down. Self mastery allows you to get back up, refocus, and keep moving toward your purpose. You have to have a purpose, you know what I mean. I started dancing around with this life, with this thing about or this saying, which is a living on purpose? You feel me? And I think we can do it. We can unpack that a little more. But you got to have a purpose. And everybody has to identify their purpose. And we did a show back. You can go back and catch the show on purpose, but you got to go back and really identify and establish your purpose. What is your purpose? So we gotta I told you it was gonna be fast. We had thirty six thirty seven minutes, So let me get out of here. So we're gonna let me recap my top five values for self mastery in twenty twenty five and beyond. Number one is self awareness. I need you to know yourself. Number two is emotional intelligence. I need you to control your emotions, control yourself through emotional regulation. Being able to regulate and control your emotions and then controlling your emotions. Being able to understand your emotions, and being able to control and understand your emotions, you are then able to identify emotions in others. You understand what I'm saying. So like a thing for me, I done got real good at is being able to identify emotions in others, And then I can when I if I have this sort of relationship with you, I can talk to you and I can push you to tell me what your emotions are that I've already identified. So if you're feeling like if I say something to you and you get defensive, and I'm like, all right, well you're defensive, why you understand what I'm saying? Why why do you feel that way? Or why do you have an attitude similar to what you said earlier? Trees, I am very sensitive to energy and emotions on people, very sensitive, very very sensitive to it. And I don't know if that's just where I'm at now or I don't know how much I can attribute that to me committing to mastering myself and mastering my emotions, but and self mastery and emotional intelligence. But my emotional intelligence is like it's on what they say, it's on fleek. It's on teen number three with self discipline and intentional action. Right, the more discipline you come, the more you the more disciplined you are through your self mastery, the more able you are or the more likely you are to engage in intentional action. And that's where the magic happens is when you're acting with intention Number four is adaptability and continuous learning. I think I skipped that. I skipped adaptability and continuous and continuous learning. Oh no, how y'all let me skip that. Well, okay, so let me do it real quick. Things are changing twenty twenty five. Things are changing. You got AI, you got all these different platforms, you got different skill sets, you got things that are needed. People are there's a need to embrace new learning skills. People are in a space where they need to learn new things. You understand what I'm saying. The people who are thriving and will thrive in this age, they're not the smartest. They're the ones who are constantly learning and adapting. Self mastery helps you with your ability to adapt and to learn. But and it's through your honesty. Like we talk about what are you good at? What you're not good at? Okay, you've been struggling with technology out this time? Okay, cool, it's time to improve that, you feel me like you've been struggling with getting on the computer. You don't like this, you don't like that. It's time to improve that. If you are mastering yourself and you're able to identify your opportunities for improvement, you feel me. Yeah. So anyway, that was number four. Then number five was resilience and purpose. You bounce back stronger, and you live intentionally. Man, if you take these seriously and apply it on you know what I mean, and really look at these values that self master will bring into your life, then I would expect that you would understand why I feel that self mastery it's self mastery off for everything else. Man. Every day you should be getting up, You should be taking a look at yourself. You should be spending more time working on yourself than working on anything else. Man, you really truly should, in my opinion, you should be spending more time working on yourself than working on anything else. Man, you should be mastering yourself, not mastering everybody else. You feel me, You shouldn't be talking to me about diddie news. You shouldn't be talking to me about about Umar Johnson in this school situation.
