And here's the problem. Motivation is temporary, those feelings are temporary. Structure is permanent. Motivation fades because the fact of the matter is your emotions are gonna fluctuate. Think about it. Think about how many emotions you go through on a daily basis. Think about how many emotions we literally flow through on a daily basis. The way you feel right now is not gonna be the way you possibly might not be the way you feel in an hour. You understand like it all changes. Emotions fluctuate, life happens, stress happens, fatigue happens, pressure happens. But your systems, your systems, don't care how you feel. Your systems don't care how you feel. Your systems operate when you're tired or energized or distracted you feel me, your systems are going to operate regardless. Yeah, So let me ask something. How many times, we'll say, in the last year, the last three hundred and sixty five days, how many times have you started something with motivation and stopped when the motivation, when the feelings of motivation faded. How many times have you started something with motivation and then stopped when that feeling faded? Think about it, get think about it. Think about it. It's like Friday, Like don't take no meetings on Fridays for those of you all that can control it, but you have to schedule hour blocks three hours, two hours, three hours, four hour blocks where you allow yourself to actually do work other than that you gonna meet to death, you feel me. Focus happens when decisions are made ahead of time, not in the moment, ahead of time, and that's why systems matter, not ideas, not intentions. Systems. So let me break down, in my opinion, what structure looks like. It looks like time blocks, define priorities, protected hours, clear routines, repeatable actions, not guessing, not drifting, only executing. Because without structure, every moment becomes negotiable. If you don't have structure, every moment is negotiable. So if you're not structured, somebody can come up and say do you have a minute, and now it's negotiable because you don't have structure. Whereas if somebody came up and you were structured, you could say, no, I don't have a minute right now, working on X, Y and Z, and you can stop taking impromptu meetings, stop getting pulled in different directions, so on and so forth. Non negotiable means And when I say, I told y'all, I say these things, y'all gotta push on me, Like, what do I mean when I say non negotiable? Non negotiable means that shit happens, no matter what it happens, no matter what it happens, no matter what. You gotta define your non negotiables. One number two, You gotta block your priorities. The important things, the things that move your life forward. You have to schedule them, you have to protect them, you have to honor them. The things that are important.
