Not that you lose focus, is that you lose it quietly through small interruptions, small habits, small distractions, things that seem harmless in the moment. But over time, they they. Every few minutes, guilty, switching to abs constantly guilty, responding immediately to every notification guilty, start starting tasks without finishing. Them, guilty. Now this is the deal. None of it is like, none of this shit feels serious, right, None of it feels serious. It's you're kind of like a man, what's the big deal? None of it feels serious. But the truth is is that your habits are training your attention. Noella the Great said that she said that that Nature Boy documentary had me totally distracted. I haven't watched the documentary. Well, I don't want to watch it. First, but secondly, like I was, I was hip, and I was paying attention to Nature Boy in real time, like when that shit was happening, you know what I mean. I was paying attention to real time and I was just looking at it like man, that shit wow. And when it all started to unfold and all that kind of stuff, I was glued to it. But it was real. It was in real time, and so I just man that shit. Wow yeah yeah yeah, it is wild. Wow. All right, let's talk about digital overload. We got to get it moving now. I didn't played enough. Let's talk about digital over the load. Because modern life twenty twenty six constantly competes for your attention. You got apps, notifications, messages, content, everything is designed to pull on your focus, and most people never disconnect long enough to notice the effect. You feel me. Your brain stays overstimulated, always consuming, always reacting, always shifting. And this is what happens. Overstimulated attention loses depth. Overstimulated attention loses depth depth. Overstimulated attention loses depth. Think about it. Think about when you see people on our phones, right and they're overstimulated. What does that look like? They're sitting there holding their phones and you see people doing this literally looking at the screen doing this, literally scrolling through social media doing this. You feel me, that's it, literally, it's it's it's it's crazy. But your brain stays overstimulated, always consuming, always reacting, always shifting. And the thing that happens next, and and and eventually is that overstimulated attention loses depth you stop, you stop concentrating deeply, concentrating deeply. Damn, I can't talk on this trouble man Tuesday. Your ass stop. That's because I ain't cussing. Your ass stop, you stop concentrating deeply, Nella. You know this because you know the total difference. You know the difference between in your regular life Monday through Saturday, you running around doing it what it is that you do, Kia, and then those Sundays are for yoga, And you know when you go out there and you take your ass out there on the yoga, you go to a whole different place. You feel me like it's a whole different experience because our overstimulated attention loses depth and we stop concentrating deeply, We stop thinking clearly, we stop staying present in the moment. And it's not because you lazy, but it's because. Your mind never gets quiet. You feel me like your mind never gets quiet. And this is the reality for you. You cannot protect your focus while constantly feeding your distractions. Ooh we. Oh we. I think that might have been a bar. You cannot protect your focus while constantly feeding your distractions. So because you know, ultimately your environment matters more than most people realize. You feel me. Clutter spaces, constant noise, your TV always running, your phone is always nearby, tabs are always open. All of those things shape your attention. Your environment trains your behavior ever re day. Your environment trains your behavior every day. And here's the truth. The truth is is your environment. It either supports your focus or compeace against it. Don't leave that out. Your environment. It either. Supports your focus or compeace against it. That's it. That's it. Can't have it both ways. It's either supporting you. It's either supporting your focus or competing against it. Every trip, and most people are trying to build focused inside environments that are designed for distraction. Most of us fuck all that at You are trying to build focus inside environments that are designed for distraction, period, point blank, end of discussion. That's why you walk around with your phone in your pocket and every time it rings, you grab it. And if you got it on vibrate, then when it vibrates, you grab it. If you got it on silent? Then about every what is it about every? I don't know what the average is. I gotta check what the average is. But if I was to bet the average, I bet it's probably every ninety seconds or so. You reaching, you reaching and tapping your phone, touching your phone. Yeah. Yeah. Your environment either supports your focus or or competes again against it. And we try to build focus inside environments that are designed for distraction. And that's why your consistency feels difficult, not because you lack the discipline, but because your environment keeps triggering your attention shifts. Yeah, what in your environment constantly pulls your focus away? What your in your environment constantly pulls your focus away? Be honest? What in your environment constantly pull with your focus away? Because awareness becomes correction. Awareness is the first step. Awareness is the absolute first step. Damn, we had twenty five minutes already. All right, this is where the shit shifts, and we're supposed to get this. We're supposed to get to this shift about five minutes earlier. So we behind schedule because I've been playing. Awareness changes everything. Most people operate unconsciously. They don't notice leaks, they don't notice how often they interrupt themselves. You feel me. You don't notice how often you interrupt yourself? Yeah you don't notice. You don't notice the leaks. Yeah, you don't notice how fragmented your attention has become. As a grown ass person, as a forty eight year old man, I had to become aware of just how fragmented my attention is. That's why I sit down and I make my children watch an ontion of TV. Yeah, we watch a timea TV we watch give me a break, you know, I'm time. We owe this motherfucker watching Neil Carter. You hear me, Nah, were watching on TIA TV commercials and awe, you feel me. I've realized how fragmented my attention has become as a man. It's grown ass me. I'm a man, Damn. My attention is fragmented. But once you see it, though, you can't unsee it, like once you put them you feel me, once you put them three D glasses on and you see it, you can't unsee it, like I cannot unsee how fragmented my attention has become. I can't unsee how distracted everybody is. So you think when I come on here and I'm yelling and I'm screaming, like, hey man, say man, you gotta pay attention to yourself first, before you start scrolling, before you start talking about these millionaires, before you start listen, and then this celebrity gossip. You gotta tend to yourself first. It's self mastery over everything. We not fucking around in mynell of the Great Voice every day because I realized how fragmented our shit has become. And you wonder why we This is a whole other conversation. I'm off script, and I'm gonna make us go longer. But you wonder how we're not able to come together and move for the greater good of the collective because everybody's attention is fucking fragmented. Your attention is fragmented. The average motherfucker has lost the ability to sit down and complete a total comprehensive thought. When is the last time you sat down during your day and thought for more than five minutes. We have lost the ability to sit down and think for five minutes. So if we've lost the ability and the willingness to sit down and think, how the fuck we gonna figure this out? Y'all? Don't got y'all donet got quiet in the chat. Hopefully that hopefully the stream ain't froze. How are we gonna figure stuff out? If we've lost the ability to focus, Like we've lost the ability to think, how are we gonna figure this shit out? And we've lost the ability to think, that's a whole another conversation. Maybe that's Maybe that's a conversation they will have in the Uh, maybe we'll take that over to the Facebook group, because we gotta keep rolling because you see it, you can't Once you see it, you can't unsee it. You feel me, and that's where the change begins. You cannot fix what you refuse to observe. You cannot fix what you refuse to observe. So instead of asking how do I focus harder? You got to start asking yourself where is my focus leaking? Because it's leaking, and it's oozing out of my ear and it's falling on to my shirt and on to the floor. That's your you're losing your focus. It's leaking. Where is my focus leaking? And that question creates awareness, and awareness creates control. Awareness creates control. Yeah, so all right, how do you start protecting your focus? Let's get practical, real quick, in and out like a robber. We are at twenty nine minutes. I gotta go. Number one, Audit your attention. You have to alter it. Audit your attention. Track where your focus goes during the day, not where you want it to go, but where it actually goes. Number three is reduce environmental triggers. Reduce environmental triggers. Kids just gave me a coffee cup. That mean her as writing. Reduce environmental triggers. You got a silence notifications, reduce clutter, protect your workspace. Create focused friendly conditions everywhere, even at work, especially at work, create focused friendly conditions. You have to reduce triggers. And number four is you have to build short focused windows. Start small, but protect blocks of uninterrupted attention. You have to get yourself to think beyond five minutes, beyond hell, two minutes. Start small, but protect with protected blocks of uninterrupted attention. Train your focus again, because we are in a space in the world where you have to retrain your focus. It's then got wild out here, all right. I gotta close this out because I gotta go, because this conversation matters more than people realize. It is a fundamental building block for self mastery, but not just self mastery, for success overall. What are you gonna succeed that if you can't focus. That's why I'm looking at people like like motherfuckers be talking about what they gonna do, and I'm like, yeah, your ass can't focus, How fuck you gonna build that? And you're not able to we lost our ability to focus. We not gonna build shit without the ability to focus. We're not gonna change nothing without the ability to focus. We are not gonna gonna be able to build generational wealth without the how you're gonna build generational wealth. Then you don't have the ability to focus. What are we doing? We don't have the ability to focus. Yeah, this conversation matters more than we realize. Shit, it matters more than you realize. What's up with it? Yeah? Your life is shaped. By what constantly receives your attention, not what you want it to be, not what you say it is, not what you pretended to be. Your life is shaped by what consistently receives your attention, and your attention keeps leaking. You feel me? Everybody so consumed? You consume with social media, consume with scroll, and consume with celebrity gossips, consume with television, consume with work, and I'm like, motherfucker. Where does your family get fit in? Where is your Where is your mind fit in? Where does where does where do? Where do you fit in? Your life is shaped by what consistently receives your attention, and if your attention keeps leaking, then your progress leaks with it eventually at worst, I mean at best eventually, sometimes instantly. If your attention keeps leaking, then your progress leaks with it quietly, slowly over time. So here's my closing question, where is your focus leaking? Right now?
