A lot of people abandon their routines too quickly.
They miss a day… Get distracted… Lose momentum…
Then throw the whole system away and start over again.
But here’s the truth:
Your focus system probably isn’t broken. You’re just using it wrong.
In this episode of The Black Coffee Club™, JuniorTheTruth™ breaks down why review cycles, small adjustments, and sustainable structure matter more than emotional restarts. We’ll talk about momentum, system refinement, and why adaptation is the key to long-term consistency.
Because real growth is not built through dramatic restarts.
It’s built through steady improvement.
We’ll discuss:
✔ Why people quit systems too early ✔ How review cycles improve focus ✔ Why momentum comes from adjustment ✔ The danger of constantly starting over ✔ How to build a system you can actually live with
If you’ve been struggling with consistency, focus, or follow-through, this conversation will help you rethink how sustainable growth actually works.

Salute to everybody, man, Salute to everybody. I really truly genuely appreciate y'all. Let's get busy. So apologies for me my tardiness. Apologies, but let's get busy so we can be fast like flash, because of course I gotta dash today. I want you to once again get your morning beverish Man. Then let's get busy. We need to talk. We need to talk. We need to talk about something that that you're doing, that you're doing and that you've done. Every time the system gets hard, you quit. Every time the system gets hard, you quit. New planner, new app, new routine, new strategy, new fresh start, again and again and again and again and again. But the truth is did y'all hold on, let me stop there. Did you hear me say new fresh start, that new fresh start again and again and again and again. Yeah. Yeah. But the fact is, man is once again, your focused system isn't broken. Your focus system isn't broken. You're just using it wrong. And that's the conversation today. A lot of us, we expect our system to work perfectly without adjustment, like you feel me. We want to get it out the box, and it worked perfectly, and it actually changes us instead of us making the necessary adjustments in order for it to work at an optimum capacity. Yeah, and that is not how systems work. Real systems, Like when you're really dealing with a system, real systems need review, They need improvement, they need adaptation. You understand what I'm saying. You gotta make some tweaks. That's what we call it. You gotta make some tweaks. And that's how your momentum gets built. That's how your momentum gets built by tweaking and adjusting. So review, improving and tweaking, review improvement and tweaking, and that in turn builds your momentum. Not constantly starting over. Constantly starting over is a constant you're in a constant state of reset, you feel me. You build momentum by tweaking and adjusting and reviewing, not constantly starting over, not constantly starting over, but by refining what already exists, refining what already exists, and honestly, and this is just the truth. A lot of people, a lot of us, we don't need a new system. We need better habits inside the system we already have. Let's get it one. So I'm hustled harder than the moment. I'm a feast on these streets. Got a revolver, I talked for these niggas trying to take me off the block where I points up daily sit, Bailey's out the bottle of smoke. Yes indeed, man, Yes, indeed, man, yes indeed, So what's up with it? Let's start here, man, let's start here. I don't. I don't. I don't really think. I don't think y'all ready, man, I don't. But we're gonna start here anyway. Hey, man, you quit too early, You quit too early, You quit too early. The moment the schedule gets uncomfortable, you feel me, you stop using it. The moment you you you you miss a day, the moment you miss, the day you abandon the whole routine, the moment life gets busy, the whole entire system disappears. Why why why why why why? Because people expect systems to remove difficulty, You feel me. You're expecting the system to remove your difficulty, but your system is not. It's not magic. You feel me like you know the simple truth, Mini manual system is its, it's it's it's magic cold, but it's not magic. You feel me. It's not magic. You're expecting the system to remove difficulty, but it's not magic. Your system is tools, like systems are tools, and tools only work when you use them correctly. You feel me. If you need to if you need. The hammer and nail, you understand what I'm saying. If you need the hammer and nail, you're not gonna go get byscripts. You understand what I'm saying unless you unless you doing some riggain. You feel me. If you need to unscrew a screw, you're not gonna go get a putty knife. Your tools only work you tools only work if you use them correctly. My brother King Vonnie said, perfection isn't isn't is an idea of facts it's a fantasy, a ghetto on it that you get old fantasies. Love don't leave here anymore. You feel me, it's a it's a ghetto fantasy at that nah Man, perfection don't exist. But the tools only work if you use them correctly. The truth is missing. One day does not mean the system failed. It means life happened. That's normal where life and we're in life, where we're living beings in life, Life is gonna happen. But some people treat one mistake like a total defeat. You feel me. We we treat one setback like it's just over. Then they restart everything from zero like they restart everything from scratch. Go through and think about your life. Think about how many times you have reset your life from scratch. I'm the I'm the I'm the reset person. You understand what I'm saying. I'm the set I'm the set fire to everything person. So I'm I'm I'm literally talking to myself. I will I will set far and start from scratch in a minute under the under the fuck everybody campaign. You feel me like that's me, I will excuse me. I will restart and have restarted. And when I look at my life. I have these pockets where I've restarted my life over, not review, not to just not make corrections, just totally wipe everything. You feel me starting from zero, and that creates a dangerous cycle. Start stop, restart, repeat, start stop, restart repeat, start stop, restart, repeat, and eventually you stop trusting yourself. You feel me like, eventually you start, you stop trusting yourself. Salute to the homie Awaken Chris over On on Facebook. Salute to your family. Eventually you stop when you go through that cycle of restarting over and over and over again, you stop trusting yourself. And it's not because you're incapable. It's not because you're incapable. Being incapable has absolutely nothing to do with it. You stop trusting yourself because you never stay with anything long enough to refine it. You feel me so in life, you're moving through this life without the ability to refine. You understand what I'm saying to make adjustments. You feel me, Coach sixty seven Sports TV, what's up with you, homie? Coach? You feel me? Sports is a microcosm of life. You understand what I'm saying, and the teams, the sports teams that are the worst are the teams that have an inability to make adjustments. The coaches that are the worst are the coaches that have an inability to make adjustments. Sports is about adjustments. When you see teams that are successful, those are the teams that are able to make adjustments. That's what life is. You have to be able to make adjustments in your life. You gotta be able to zig and zag, bob and weave. You gotta be able to tweet this, tweet that, and make adjustments all the way around the board. And most of us stop trusting ourselves. And it's not because we're incapable. You can have all the capability in the world, but you never stay with anything long enough to refine it. And when you don't, when you do not have the ability to refine things in life, you stop trusting yourself. Yeah. Now, let's talk about momentum. Momentum is not built through perfection. You feel me, what you say, What you say, King Vonnie, what you say. Momentum is not built through perfection. Salute to everybody taking the time to tune in life. Thank you all so much, no matter where you tuning in at Man shout out to the Facebook family shout out to the YouTube family Twitch kick the Rumble, salute to everybody appreciate it. Coach sixty seven sports TV says the same applies to relationship. Talk to that talk, coach, talk that talk all over your life. Relationships. You feel me with education, with yourself, with your health, like you have to make adjustments. That's it. You have to make adjustments. You feel me, coach. I'm forty on forty eight. You fear me. So I had to make adjustments with the way I eat. You feel me because I got introduced to this thing called a heartburn if you will, an acid reflux if you will. So it's like at certain hours, man, I be having to shut it down, like red sauce stuff that's real acidic stuff that's strong. You feel me that seven o'clock hour because I be having to shut it down. Man, I can't eat that shit this late. You feel me, Sweet Tea the Cheeta said, yup. Now, I had to make adjustments, Sweet Tea. I used to like spicy shit, hot man. Put some put some hot sauce on my burrito, baby, ah, cuz I'll be having yeah, put some halopenios on it. Even me it man. She at seven o'clock because I ain't put them on halopenos away. You trying to kill me? You feel me, You're trying to kill me. Put them malopenios up man, Put that hot spicy, not your cheese up. Man, as you crazy man? Put them on your onions? No, no, damn onions is seven o'clock PM in the evening. You trying to kill me? Nah, man, I got I got them tom smoothies. You feel me? I prefer baking soda. You understand what I'm saying, But man, I be gotta make a Life is about adjustments, man, life is about adjustments. King Vonnie said, Kaye and pepper is the way, Yeah, Kye and pepper in the morning, bro, But nighttime you saying take it at nighttime too. Phoenix Noon said that. Gird Coach sixty seven said, I'm struggling with that as we speak. My diet is the biggest adjustments I have to make me too. Bro. It's bad news, bad news. But momentium is not built through perfection. Momentium is built from adjustment. Adjustment. You try something, you review it, you improve it, then you repeat it. That's growth. But most people skip the review part. We don't like to review. Shit, you feel me. You don't like to review it, man a king Bonde. If you tell me to work at night, I try it. I've seen some stuff about taking it at night, but I take my apple, cider, vinegar and my cayenne. I'll be doing that in the morning, but I try it at night. If you say it's gonna work, but I've been well. What I've what's been working for me is my my half half a limon glass of water and baking soda. You know what I'm saying. At night, I take that, boy, I'll be good. I'll be good, I'll be man, I be rolling, I'll be in my dreams, man doing the cha chaw slab with Lena Horn and shit, mm hmm. Most people skip the review. We skip the review part. We only look at results, and we look at the results emotionally. Salute the jelly bean, what's up with your homie? We look at the results emotionally. So you put this system in. You don't review how the system's working. You don't review how you're doing. You don't review it. You feel me. You you just looking at the results, and you looking at the results like a maniac. You feel me and when you, and when you, and when you. Big dad said, lean a horn, He saluted my brother. Big Dad's in the building. You're looking at the results, and you're looking at them emotionally. Yeah. Never do we skip the review review part. If I struggle today, the system must not work. And once again, the system is not magic. It's not going to review struggle. No, Sometimes the system needs adjustment. Maybe your schedule is overloaded, maybe distractions are too accessible, Maybe the focus blocks are too long. Maybe the environment is just too chaotic. Maybe you need more recovery. Time you feel me. That's not failure. That is feedback, and feedback is information, man. Feedback is power. Feedback is power, man, it's crazy like you don't get mad at feedback. You ever had a friend that you feel me? You tell them something? I don't know it'd be anything, man' I didn't you ever tell a friend they breath like? Man, bring your breath tart. You feel me here? You give them some gum and they get offended. I don't know. Damn gun Becuz boy, you got a dragon in your mouth. You feel me like? Broh, you got it here? You know what I'm saying. People get mad. I don't want no gun. It's feedback. If feedback helps systems improve, feedback helps systems improve. Y'all gotta embrace the feedback. Say it with me. Embrace the feedback. Family, You have to embrace the feedback. Does that make sense? Don't run from the feedback. Embrace the feedback. Feedback helps improve the system. Yeah, now here's the truth. Strong systems evolve. Strong systems evolve, they do rigid or excuse me, weak systems stay rigid. The real weak systems stay rigid, suiting my brother King Vonnie Rocking, Rocking. Yeah, the weak systems stay rigid. Rigid systems usually break under pressure. And that's why your ability to adapt matters. You feel me. Strong systems evolve. You understand what I'm saying. Strong systems evolved. Remember how Now I'm not trying to make nobody cry, but I just want you to think about it. Remember when big Mama was here, and remember some of y'all still got y'all got y'all grandmamas. Hey, salute to y'all. But remember when big Mama was here. Remember how the family system flowed. Remember how it flowed. You understand what I'm saying. Remember it just flowed, and then Big Mama went on and transition transitioned, and the family system fell apart because it didn't adapt. You feel me, It didn't adapt. So now the system is not strong like it was before. I'm really saying something. If you're listening. Strong systems adapt, Strong systems adapt, and somewhere along the line, we're supposed to make some of adjustments. You feel me, Big dead says family and shambles now, bru it's a crying shame, bro, It's a crying shame. But the strong systems have to adapt. And like and in my Coach sixty seven Sports TV voice that applies everywhere every part of your life, the strong systems have to make adaption of adapt adaptations. They have to adapt, you feel me. They have to change, they have to make adjustments. That's a better word. Yeah. So this part is important because too many people just keep starting over right every Monday, We start out every month, every new year, and every restart costs you energy. You understand what I'm saying. Think about it, man, Think about a car like I talk about like, think about the old school Chevy. Think about the amount of energy that it takes to actually start the car. You feel me. There is a surge of energy to get a car to start, even an electric car. You feel me, there is a surge of energy to get the car to start. Every restart costs energy. You lose rhythm, you lose momentum, you lose confidence. Because starting over it feels exciting, like it's a fresh new start. You feel me. It's yeah, I'm so excited now, just can't hide it. I'm about to lose control. And I think I like it, you feel me because you you know, starting over it is I'm doing a new thing. We gonna do a new thing in this season. You know, you go to for those of y'all to go to church. You go to church and they say, in this season, I'm gonna do a new thing, And that shit sounds exciting. But refinement creates real progress. Refining like refinement creates real progress. Yeah, let me say that again. Starting over feels exciting. Refinement creates progress. That means, sometimes you don't need a whole new life, you feel me. Sometimes you don't need. A whole new life. You know what, I don't need a whole new life. I like this one. You understand what I'm saying. I like this one. I think I'm gonna keep this one. You just need better timing, you feel me, sweet tea and titty. You need better boundaries, you need better focused blocks. You know what I'm saying. You need. You need better review habits. You need better review habits. Sometimes you need smaller goals. Sometimes you want to build momentum with your goals, make smaller goals. Did y'all hear what I said? I just dropped the bar. And if you want to build momentum in your life with goals, make smaller goals, you feel me and watch and watch. So I'm gonna tell you the thing about me, Like I'm a I'm a list person and I'm a I'm a I'm a crossover the list person. Boy. When I get to cross the shit off my list, I get to who you feel me. I get that that momentum, get the flowing that blood, get the flowing. Yeah. So, if you want to build momentum through your goals, make smaller goals, make cleaner priorities. Everything ain't a priority, Make cleaner priorities. That's refinement, and refinement is mature. Refinement is maturity because mature people. This is what I've come to learn mature people. Mature people understand this. Everything improves through adjustment. Mature people understand that everything improves through adjustment. Your routines, your business, your health, your relationships, your focused system, your family, everything, everything improves through adjustment. Now, let's talk about these review cycles. Let's talk about review cycles, because this is where your clarity is gonna get built. You need time to stop and ask yourself what worked this week? What distracted me, what drained my energy, what helped me focus? What needs adjustment? Those questions matter. Literally, when you're navigating your way through this life and you're trying to build and accomplished stuff, you have to stop and ask yourself those questions. Those questions matter because awareness creates improvement, and improvement creates momentum. But if you never review anything, like, if you never review anything, you keep repeating the weak patterns, you feel me if you never review anything, you just you just keep repeating the patterns and stuff that don't work. Think about it. Think about the stuff that you do on repeat that's not working, that's not generating the results that you're looking for. But you're on repeat with weak patterns. And that's why your review cycles matter it's not for shame, it's for refinement. Shame has nothing to do with it. It's for refinement. Yeah, a simple weekly review can change everything. Look at your schedule, look at your habits, look at your distractions, look at your priorities, look at your boundaries. You feel me, look at what you were able to accomplish. In the week and why and how. And when you look at your schedule, your habits, your distractions, your priorities, then you just make one adjustment. You don't make fifty, just make one adjustment, and that's how momentum builds slowly and sustainably. One of the things I did, I'm gonna tell you I had a and this is salute to the podcast family Man by lot Famili and my first love, And tell you one thing I had to do recently. So usually because we're streaming live, but this show comes out in a podcast format for the whole podcast community. You understand what I'm saying because there's a whole community of people who are listening to the podcast Separate and it's just the all audio podcast. Shout out to my truckers. I know a couple of them have tapped in. It's a couple of truckers in there. It's a couple of my education colleagues. Excuse me, my higher ed colleagues. Salute to you all. It's some people who actually live overseas. We have a big following in France. Salute to the Frenchies. You understand, we we but I and then there's a lot of people who listen and try to remix the dope. Let's not leave that out. But look, So one of the things that I was doing was I do the live stream and then I'll come back to it and get it all package for the podcast, you feel me. And that was a problem because what ended up happening is I won't come right back to it and then I'll go and proceed with the next live stream the next day or whatever the case may be. And so now I have a line of podcasts that have not been packaged, you feel me. So it's about two weeks ago. I sat down and I packaged them, and I had like seven podcasts that hadn't been packaged. You feel me. I'm like, man, this is crazy. So I had to make a minor adjustment because I was I'm holding up. I got a bottleneck with regard to the podcast, but the live streams are coming out in real time, and I'm like, I ain't, I ain't on. That, you feel me. So now I made the adjustment that when as soon as this is over, have everything that I need within my notes to actually package the podcast for distribution. You feel me. So now as soon as this is over. It takes me about a minute and thirty seconds to get everything packaged for the podcast, and then now it's ready to go, and I don't have to come back and do anything. That small adjustment has been trum and mend this with regard to my production, you feel me. You have to make adjustments, and you have to review and make adjustments. Yeah, and that's how momentum builds, and it's slowly and sustainably, you feel me. So let's make this practical before I go. If you want stronger focused systems, stop trying to build the perfect system. Build a usable one, one that can actually repeat step one. Simplify your system. Simplify your system. This is a good time for me to say you definitely need a system, and you can use the simple Truth Minute Manual system to actually help build your system. You feel me. But anyway, let's go back to it, so, simplify your system. Too much complexity kills consistency. Does that make sense? Too much complexity kills consistency. Keep it simple, kiss, keep it simple, stupid, keep it clean. Simplify your system. Step two, review it weekly. Ask simple questions. What worked, what failed? What needs adjustment? Review your system weekly. Step three, Protect the important parts. Protect the important parts your focus, block your priorities, your recovery. You feel me, your attention, protect them. Step four is adjust instead of restarting. You missed the day. Adjust. You had a busy week. Adjust, you had a busy month, a busy three months. Adjust. You feel me low energy? Adjust, Stop throwing the whole system away, way, stop throwing the whole system away. You have a planner, You haven't opened your planner in two weeks. That doesn't mean a planner doesn't work. Make your adjustments. You feel me, So I gotta go, man, This conversation matters, though. This conversation matters a lot of people, a lot of people. You're not failing because you lack potential. Things aren't working because you keep abandoning the process too early. Stop abandoning the process. Every restart takes, Every restart resets your momental. It takes a toll on your progress. You feel me. Every restart resets your momental. So here's the question. What if your system isn't broken, what if it just needs refort Think about that. Because growth is not built through dramatic restarts. It's not. Excuse me, excuse me. We restart our systems, and a lot of times we never recover. People do these restarts and we and never recover. Growth is not built through dramatic restarts. It's built through steady improvement, day after day after day, one adjustment at a time. Man, this is the Black Coffee Club man around here. We don't keep starting over. We refine the system. Thank you all so much man for taking the tantuny and really truly genuinely appreciate y'all. Man. Salute to you all man.
