Your Life Drains You When Your Days Lack Structure | The Black Coffee Club™

Feeling tired all the time, dealing with decision fatigue, and struggling with mental overload often come from unstructured days—not lack of motivation. Energy drains when your day has no structure to protect your focus.

Most people think they’re exhausted because life is demanding. But in reality, many people feel drained because their days are scattered, unplanned, and filled with constant decision-making. When everything in your day is negotiable, your mind stays overloaded and your energy disappears.

In this episode of The Black Coffee Club™, we break down how decision fatigue, scattered effort, and mental overload quietly drain your energy. You’ll learn why structure restores clarity, how unfinished tasks create invisible pressure, and why organized days create stronger momentum.

Because here’s the truth:

You don’t feel drained because life is too hard.
You feel drained because your days are too loose.

This episode will help you recognize the real cause of exhaustion—and give you practical ways to rebuild your energy through intentional structure.

If your days feel chaotic, your mind feels overloaded, or your energy disappears too quickly…

This conversation is for you.

You want your ankles soft, nephew, you want your ankles soft. Listen to Uncle Jr. You want your nephew, You want your ankles soft. You feel me, you want ankle soft? Man? If the ankles ain't soft, man, man say hey man, say on the first things I looked at it. My wife is her legs, them thighs and them and them and them uh calves in them in them ankles. Yeah yeah, yeah. Here go here go the home homeboy Gwendol And still over here, here go my deuce Cord. I mean, here go about discord, Gwendoland, Hey, Gwendolen, Just art and don't and no no button Necker or either. Man? Can we work now? Can I like? I didn't just spend ten minutes playing? Can we work now? Let's talk about decision fatigue. Most people don't recognize it when it happens. Every decision costs energy. Every decision costs energy. What to eat, what to wear, what to do first, what to respond to, what to ignore, what to prioritize. Every one of those decisions requires mental fuel. Think about it. You get up and you have a certain amount of fuel. Gotta start looking at this shit differently. Every day you get up, you charged up, and you fueled up, right, you full and you got your mental fuel. But every decision costs some mental fuel. And when your day has no structure, you make hundreds of unnecessary decisions. And that's before noon. Did you hear me? I said unnecessary decisions. You make hundreds of unnecessary decisions. I'm gonna wait on y'all to start literally pushing me on this stuff. When I say an unnecessary decision? What's an unnecessary decision? Junior? What you'll see? But you make hundreds of them shits before noon? Yeah yeah, my sister, my sister wife sports bed and said it's good stuff. She's writing it down. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah. I know you're writing it down. And hopefully because you got three or for these mothers, hopefully you're writing it down in your super in your uh, your super, your super planner. Yeah yeah, yr your minute. Man, you're a planner. With the self massed three blueprint available at www dot junior the truth dot com. I mean, excuse me, Junior Truth dot tim common get you there, but it's available at the minutemenyo dot com. Think about this, excuse me? How many decisions have you already made today? How many decisions that you have you already made today? Think about that. At nine to twenty one a m. Eastern Standard time on Wednesday, April to twenty ninth, twenty twenty six, That date sound crazy. How many decisions have you already made today. Now, of those decisions that you already made today, how many of those decisions didn't need to exist? You feel me? How much easier would it have been if Phelis Neon had said, like fifty, how easier would it have been? Like instead of getting up this morning, King Fonnie watched this, instead of getting up this morning deciding what you're gonna eat for breakfast, wouldn't it have been a whole hell of a lot easier to get up this morning and grab your meal, prep breakfast that you prepped on Sunday because you knew Wednesday morning was gonna come and you was gonna need to grab breakfast. You feel me, how many decisions have you already made today that did not need to exist? What time to start, what task to do, what direction to move? And all of this shit is done without structure. Everything becomes a choice. And when everything is a choice, your brain gets tired fast, you feel me. Your brain gets tired fast. When everything is a choice, your brain gets tired fast. Pause. Let me put a bookmark right here. That's what the fuck is wrong with our kids. If we're gonna have real conversations now, Fellas I'm. A you feel me? This is this shit is gonna shit resonate with you, Bru. Our kids got too many choices, and that's what's wrong with them. They have too many choices, Bru. Do you remember growing up? Do you remember growing up? Do you remember ever being asked what the hell do you. Want to eat? Or what's the full cook? And then you ate whatever fell across the plate, because that's what my daddy would say to me. I say, daddy was for dinner? He said, whatever fall across the plate, Whatever fall across the plate. You feel me? Too many choices, and our kids are going through this life with all of these choices, and they make the wrong choices because they got too many choices, because we've afforded on choices. Remember, you used to be told what to do, used to be told what you was gonna be, you feel me? Motherfuckers used to tell you who you was gonna marry. Y'all ain't y'all ain't talking man. Fixed marriages was really a thing when your family got with that family. And this child, this son is being raised up, this dart is being raised up. They about the same age. You come from good stock. We need to bring that shit back. I'm just trying to tell you the truth. I'm my youngest dark man. She gonna have a fixed marriage, fuck, y'all, no, man, because I know what this young man is being how he's being brought up. I understand the structure that he's being brought up in. I understand the structure that my children are being brought up in. Understand the environment this family gets with this family, and we make something wonderful. Yeah, I know I'm gonna lose everybody. Yad man, fixed marriages. I don't know that sound. Crazy, man, say man, because we get out here, boy, and we choose wrong. We choose wrong. That's a whole nother conversation, though, y'all ain't ready to have that conversation. So I'm lee y'all a long. You feel me. It's too many choices. Me and folk, our kids got too many choices, and that's what the fuck wrong with them. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah yeah. Man. When everything is a choice, your brain gets tired fast. And that's why unstructured days feel so heavy, not productive. They feel heavy heavy. She heartshtat, what's up with you? Yeah? So now let's talk about scattered effort. Scattered effort, because being busy doesn't mean you're progressing. Most people move all day but accomplish very little. We bounce between tasks, we react to distractions, of course, excuse me. We shift directions constantly, and by the end of the day we feel exhausted but unfulfilled. That's scattered effort. That is scattered effort, movement without direction, scattered effort. And the truth is, scattered effort drains more energy than focused work. You can work hard than the motherfucker, but if it's focused work, if you zero in and focused on the work, you will be one hundred times more productive. This scattered effort, scattered effort drains more energy than focused work. You could be sitting, you could be sitting. That's how you could be sitting at a computer desk all day with scattered effort versus being outside with physical labor, working on physical labor, and you will be more tired from the scattered effort than the actual physical labor. Yeah, scattered effort drains more energy than focused work. Salute to Rob Singleton the building. What's up with you? Broke? Yeah? Now, why is that? Why is that? Why it's scattered? Why does scattered effort drain more energy then focused work. Think about your body and your and your your Yeah, your body and your mind as a as an engine. Think of it as an engine, right, and think about like the old school. Just think about the old school. Uh, think about old school Chevy. You know, I'm a box Chevy motherfucker. So think about the old school box chev Get ready, turned that mother go one. You gotta pump the gas. Then started up. And when you started up, there's this concerted push. There's this rush of pushing fuel into the into the engine to push it in order to start the engine up. Right. If you think about your brain the same way, scattered effort drains more energy than focus work because your brain keeps restarting every time. So every time you bounce from this task to this task, your brain has to restart. Then you bounce from there to there. But I love the sound effects. You feel me. You keep restarting, keep re engaging, keep readjusting. And every time your brain has to restart, every time you switch tasks, you lose momentum. You feel me. Yeah, Prime in the filter, that's what it's called. Prime in the filter. Suiting My sister Angie, Wi's aka wise Sports betten. Every time you got a prime, you gotta prime to pump. Every trip, you lose momentum, you lose clarity, you lose energy, you feel and then you wonder why so often you start tasks but you don't finish them, and even and not finish on that unfinished loop of tasks that costs energy, not once but repeatedly, you feel me. And then we're in this new day and. Age where we actually are getting You can be engaging in focused work and then you get a phone call or a text message. I'm talking about in a professional setting, and then you get pulled away from the focused work and then you gotta go prime to pump. Yeah. Man, then you wonder why you are exhausted. All right, let's talk about mental overload. And I'm working through this. I'm working like a motherfucker so I can get through here because I came in so late. Apologies to you. Mental overload. This is where most of the exhaustion hides, because unfinished decisions sit in your mind quietly but constantly. Yeah, you think about things you haven't done, things you postponed, things you avoided, and your mind keeps carrying those open loops. It's like wait. Those open loops are like wait in your mind. You know those things that you're supposed to be doing that you ain't done. Shit, you should have been done. I got stuff I should have did two three months ago. I ain't done yet. You feel me. I got stuff that I've started and then I just put it down and don't finish it and then don't mess around. And it's visual where you can actually see the shit that you haven't done. You feel me. Your mind carries those open loops like wait. Yeah, like wait, kids said, oh shit, they're gonna epiphany. You feel mere. Yeah, your mind is carrying that shit. And then when you you have Kia Nella the Great, when you have years and years of years of unfinished projects or unfinished decisions, right, your mind has been carrying that shit for. Years and years and years. Yeah. And this is the other thing. Unfinished decisions, those unfinished decisions, they create invisible pressure, you feel me, not visible, but invisible pressure. It ain't obvious, but it's heavy than a motherfucker. It's not obvious pressure, but it's heavy than a motherfucker. And that's why people feel drained even when they haven't physically worked hard, or they haven't worked hard period, because their mind is overloaded, not the body. You understand what I'm saying. And I really wished that I could get you all to realize how powerful your mind is. Think about how powerful your mind is. Think about how you can be sitting there and your mind tell you hungry, you hungry. You can be sitting there, your mind tell you you scared, you scared. You can be sitting there, your mind tell you horny, you horny, you feel me. You can be sitting there your mind tell you sleepy. All of a sudden, you sleepy. So when your mind is overloaded, you gonna be fatigued. Phillis doing that childish in the motherfucker, I said, horny, He started laughing. Yeah, So think about your life right now. Think about your life right now. I want you to think about your life, not nobody else's life. And I'm talking about your life. I ain't talking about your image. I ain't talking about who the fuck you pretend to be nine am to five pm, I ain't talking about none of that. I'm talking about your real life. You know that real life where your ass walked out the house today and you ain't made the bed. You've hear me that real life where you got unfolded laundry Like like me, you feel me, My life is taken over by unfloated laundry. You understand I'm talking about Like, yeah, I'm talking about me. Now get out of my business. You feel me? How many unfinished things are sitting in your head, not written down, not scheduled, just floating around in your head. That's mental clutter. Some of the shit floating around in your head is unfinished and undone, and you can't even it's so bad. You don't even know what the fuck it is. You just know that, man, you supposed to be doing something. And that's why you can say, like you can be walking to the refrigerator to go get to go get some juice, drink out the jug. If you like me, you feel me, I'm a hey man, her, I'm on my way to go drink juice out the jug, the same. Jug that my family drink out of. Y'all welcome, And I go getting ready to go drink some juice, and I'll be like, damn, I'm supposed to be doing so I stopped in the mid step, like man, I'm supposed to go. I'm supposed to go do something because I got shit just floating around in my head. I'm supposed to be somewhere, supposed to be doing something. I don't even know what it is. That's mental clutter, and clutter drains your energy. Mental clutter drains your energy every trip, every tip trip, ab said, jug drinker stand up, yes, yes, Lord, yeah yes, Lord, yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. The kids none of the grace, says you a fucking minute, bro, that's on my soul. The only time I antrey got a jug because I eat I always. I eat almonds and cashews and mixed nuts and stuff. So the only time I don't is if I'm eating nuts because my my kids got severe nut allergies. I don't want to hit them with the I don't want to hit them with the uh with the cash you back while she hid me. Other than that, because I'm about to jump straight out to jug with it. I'm a I'm a cave man, damn savage, he said, Jug drinkers standing up, You feel me? M h. Mental clutter drains your energy every time, y'all that mental clutter, yeah, Wild Sports Band said decades of unfinished beats, lyrics and comedy skits. She harsh that says, I can always tell when someone has a lot on their mind or where their mind is in chaos by how their home looks, how their workspace looks. Damn it, even their car, even their car on my soul. Ab said, that's how OJ was intended to be. Drunk man o j Cranberry juice. You fear me like in juicy juice. Fruit punch Hawaiian punch high see you fear me an organic, a fresh organic simple truth apple juice, apple juice boy apple juice called harden the paint fresh out the jug and my wife like the police when she come around. I get a cup. I ain't gonna lie tell you she come around, I get a cup like like sometimes you feel me like I drink out the jug and then I close the refrigerator door and she's standing there like, bishupone juice? What's up? Q? I just I didne just took it straight to the head. You feel me straight out the jug with it? Fuck it? Here go the shift man, so we can get out of here. Structure restores that energy. Structure sure restores your energy, not rest alone. That's why y'all motherfuckers, get all this sleep and still be tired, Get all this sleep and still be drained? You feel me? Yeah? Yeah, yeah, King Vonnie said, even better with a juicer. He coming in, He telling us, Man got to get to get on this holistic shit. Man, let's stop drinking all this juicy juice. This high seat is bullshit, you feel me? I got some sweet tar tarry juice upstairs. I'm finna go take to the face soon as I get off of here, I'm gonna take that straight to the. Man to the face, Dad said, And then what was man? Listen to me? I ain't playing with y'all. Man. Structure restores energy, not rest alone structure, because structure removes the guess work. You want to kill the guess work that's a bar. Structure removes the guess work. Structure removes hesitation. Structure removes confusion. When your day has structure, you don't think as much. You feel me. It removes the confusion, think about it like it. Structure removes confusion. You don't think as much. You execute, you move, You finish, and finishing becomes momentum or finishing creates momentum. And then Momentum creates energy, not the other way around. Not the other way around. Man, let me say it again, I ain't coming off of that. Momentum creates energy, not motivation. Momentum creates energy, not motivation. Yeah, Momentum creates energy, not motivation. And that's why discipline, that's why discipline. Discipline people feel so energized. You know how the motherfuckers be up in the morning and they be bouncing and they be they be geeking. You be looking at them like, man, I ain't even man, mack covey, don't talk to me. Discipline people gotta get up time. They up. They energetic, They ready, They ready to roll when I am. When I am, you can tell. And I'm gonna give y'all a secret. I'm gonna help y'all engage with with with me. You know what I mean? This is this is I'm gonna give y'all this about me. When I'm geeking in the morning, when I'm here and I'm starting on time and my energy is at an all time high, and I hit y'all with a whooho, and I'm ready to rock. Everything is lined up and I'm on my game because everything is lined up and I am. I am operating from a place of discipline. That's when you know I'm on my ship. See now you know what to look for. So when I when I'm coming in here twenty minutes late and I'm messed up because it's like a domino effect, I ain't up like I'm supposed to be. I ain't been doing what I'm supposed to be doing old school. Instantly in the building, I see you, and then all of a sudden, my technology don't work it and it's don't working, and I'm coming in like, all right, I gotta hurry up. Ain't much time to play. Y'all know I don't come in here without playing. I play every day, all day, every day. So when I'm on my shit, my energy is out of all time had. When people are in the morning and they have energy, that's a motherfucker. That's coming from a place of discipline. They on point. That's why discipline people feel so organized, and that's why people who aren't getting so angry. That's why you get to work and people be mad. I haven't had coffee. Don't talk to me. People dragging in, they look like the cat just drug them. In discipline, people often feel energized because they rest more, and they rest more because they decide less. They don't negotiate their day away. They don't negotiate their day. Ain't shit a person that's disciplined. Think about a person that's disciplined. Ain't shit negotiable with them? Think about that? Amen, we finna go have a drink? Brother, what's up? Nah? Man, I gotta go to the crib. You feel me? I promised the kids I was gonna play with him. I gotta I gotta go, hey, man, what's up? And then we've been We're finna go grabs some wings and go watch the game. Bro. We got soccer practice today. I gotta go get my son. We gotta go over to soccer practice. Amen, can you jump on it? Ah? That's my I got my gym. Time'll be in the gym at that time. Ain't shit negotiable with a disciplined person at all. Disciplined people don't negotiate their day. They execute it to Hey, they executed. I'm talking to myself. I gotta get back on my shit. I'm about to not about to. I'm back on it now. Let's get practical, because this is where the change happens. Here's how you start building your energy. Here's how you start building your energy. I gotta give you this news you can use so I can get on with it. Number one, you gotta define your starting time, not loosely specifically wake time. What time are you waking up? She heartstat your start time? What time are you gonna start? Joe? What time do you start? Because you need to have your wake time. You need to have your You need to have your time with God, you feel me. You need to have your time with God. You need to have your time with yourself, you feel me. You need to have your time with others, with your loved ones, your family, your friends, not friends, your family, your loved ones, your spouse. Then you gotta have your start time. You gotta have your execution time. Remove the guessing, but what you have to define your starting time. Number two, you gotta predecide your priorities before the day starts. I'm not gonna you feel me, the simple truth minute man, your planner, you. Feel me, shameless plug. Predecide your priorities before the day starts, not during the day. Choose what matters most today, What matters most today today? I have to XYZ. Then once you decide that you protect that, you don't give up the ship. This is what I'm on today. This is what I'm on today. This is what I'm on today. My sister, A wise sports Baden says, a great planner. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. I appreciate it. You decide what matters most today. Then you protected number three. You reduce open decisions. Reduce open decisions. When I'm on my shit, I'm not gonna lie to you. When I'm on my shit, I have the same I have the same routines, have the same workflow, less thinking, more doing. I used to prepack my I used to in UH when I worked at university. When I would be on my shit, I prepacked my breakfast. I would have my oat meal, cinnamon, berries and a banana and an apple. Every day. I would make my oat meal in my office every day, the same meal every day. And I would have the same lunch every day, be a chicken breast and a salad or chicken breast rice and a half of a sweet potato. Every day, same meal, same routines, same workflow, less thinking, more doing, not running around everybody sitting here, Hey man, were about to go to lunch. I brought my lunch. Man, I don't know what I eat. I don't know what I'm eat for lunch. What you eat for lunch or chicken breast? And I bought chicken breast, same meal, same routines, same world, work flow, less thinking, more doing. Reduce open decisions is number three. Man, I hope y'all writing this shit down. If not, you better bring your ass back and then write this shit down. And I'm talking to you black men, you feel me? Reduce these open decisions. Number four is Finish something daily. Finish something daily every day. Finish not everything, but finish something. What Denzel say, I'm from around the way, I'm leaving here with something every day. Finish something because completion builds energy, not planning, not thinking, Completion builds energy. Completion those other things help. Completion builds energy. All right, man, I gotta go. Let's close this ship out, Let's put a let's put a let's put a bone on this for the day. Hey man, who got it like us? Hold on? Just wait a second, you feel me? I'm a I'm a I'm gonna let me sit back, and who got it like us? So before you get on off here and you go listen and you and you listen to all this Clay and and Meg and and all this bullshit and and and all the Diddy news and who beefing with who? And who don't like who, and all the celebrity gossip and all this ship that they have put on your timelines to make you believe that it's more important than you being the absolute best you that you can for the world, for yourself, for your for your children, for your wives, you feel me, for your for the for the people that need you to be uh the best you. So before you go chalk full of that, get chalked full of that, I want to thank you for being in here and really truly taking a few a few moments to just really, really really pour into yourself. King Vonnie say, it's always something you feel me, l Lad, what's up with you? It's always something? L Lad said, great chat Christy today, I just listen, no chatty. Laladi thinks she's slick. She came in here later in the motherfucker saluting my sister La LAIDI thank you for your support, Lola, excuse me, Yeah, but let's close this shit out. I just have I had to you feel me. I have to sit back and just look at my work like whoa now now now I'm back. Now I'm back, Now I'm back. My sister said, no, I heard everything, Junior. I heard everything, Junior. Thank you, La Lah. Most people believe I'm just tired. I lack energy, I don't have drive. But here's the truth. Your energy isn't broken. Your structure is missing. You can go play with somebody else. But I know, I know, and you know, and now you know that I know that. You know that I know your structure is missing. What drains you ain't life, It ain't responsibility. What is draining you and what is fucking you up is your unstructured days. Your days lack structure, and that is what is beating you upside your head. You can go play with somebody else. You're not drained by life. You are not drained by your responsibilities. You built for that shit. What's draining you is your unstructured days, your loose priorities, your constant negotiation, constant negotiation. You are in a constant negotiation. You motherfuckers are in a constant negotiation for what you give your attention to. You feel me. What you it's negotiating. Your attention is negotiable, but negotiable. Are you crazy? Are you crazy? Is you cool? Is you cool? Loose priorities, constant negotiation. But once you build structure, something changes. Man, Once you build that structure, something changes. Clarity is gonna improve, your momentum is gonna build. And then the next thing, you know, your energy is gonna return like you're gonna have that. You're gonna have that childlike energy. Remember how energetic you was as a child. You're gonna have that childlike energy to go outside like kids and play all fucking day. Hate it when we have to come in to go outside. See how dirty I could get just to take a bath and see the ring around a bath hub. You feel me, childlike energy. That's gonna return, And and shit, it ain't magical, it's systematical. You feel me. Your energy is gonna return, Not magically, it's gonna be systematically. It's gonna return. Yeah, So I gotta ask you on my way out. This is for you, not for me, King Bonnie said, teen street lights, boy, you better know it. What part of your day needs structure right now? Then this is a question for you. What part of your day needs structure right now, not later, not someday. Today. What part of your life needs structure right now? Because life doesn't drain you randomly. Your life drains you when your day's lack structure. Life drains you when your day's lack structure. And at the end of the day, just like the thumbnail says, no structure, no energy, manage the Black Coffee Club around here. Man. We are not protecting comfort. Fuck your comfort, fuck your feelings. We protect structure. We protect structure, and we protect self mastery on my soul. Salute to y'all.
