You’re Not Tired — You’re Misaligned | The Black Coffee Club™

Alignment, burnout, energy leaks, purpose, self-mastery, life clarity, discipline, and focus — this episode of The Black Coffee Club explores why many people feel exhausted even when they aren’t doing that much.

The truth is simple:
You may not be tired.
You may be misaligned.

When your life is out of alignment with your purpose, everything feels heavier. Decisions become harder, motivation fades, and burnout begins to appear.

In this conversation, JuniorTheTruth™ breaks down:

• why misalignment drains your energy
• how energy leaks show up in everyday life
• the connection between purpose and burnout
• why alignment restores focus and motivation

Sometimes the problem isn’t effort.

Sometimes the problem is direction.

You've been feeling tired, Well, just be tired. We get we get we get tired. You feel me. These people be tired, and I know people are gonna come in, they can catch up, but just just tired. You know what I'm saying. I'm not. Really in the space where I'm tired right now, but I get in those spaces where I just feel tired. You understand what I'm saying. Life starts feeling real heavy, you know what I mean. Like, really, it's just like a whole lot going on, and I just feel drained, I feel zapped. Yeah, yeah, here's a conversation we're gonna have today because I'm gonna argue with you. And I'm a bicker and I really truly came to bicker. You know, this week, I've really been on some bicker. You feel me, I really been on the I really been on the bicker because we gotta, we gotta. There's some things we gotta shake loose. You feel me, we gotta there's some things we gotta shake loose. And I'm here to tell you that you're not tired, you just miss aligned. You feel me, You're not tired, you just miss aligned. And the mere realization of the fact that you're not hired, you're just misaligned, changes everything, like it changes everything. Yeah, it's it is It changes everything. Boxing the barbecue, What's up with your hommy? It changes everything because a lot of the times, what we call being exhausted, what we call exhaustion, is actually energy being drained by things. That don't belong in your life. A lot of the times, man, I'm really gonna say, the majority of the times, what we call exhaustion, like that feeling of being exhausted, Tony wrong, what's up with your hommy? That feeling of being exhausted, right, is. Indeed the energy being drained by things is that do not belong in your life. And I really truly came here to bicker on that wonder. So I hustled harder than the moment. I'm a feast on these streets. Got a revolver I took for these niggas trying to take me off the block where I pointed up daily SI dailies, out the bottles, smoke. Yep, it's only right. It's only right, man, It's only right. Salute to the family. Yes, oh no, oh, no, it's. A new day, man, that show feel good too, Donald. This Wednesday, we almost at the middle of the month, the third month of the year twenty twenty six, damn near through the first quarter of the year. But we're still here. We're still going, We're going strong. And then the words of kid Alan, we ain't fucking around neither man. Salute to the family, the most intentional morning circle on the planet. Yeah, it's a new who Day. Yes, yeah, yeah. Hey hey hey hey hey man, hey hey hey hey. That get you gotta get that in your soul. Bureaucratic education. I think that's bocratic you ed you tap in the building. Yeah, palette waitress in the building, Tony rohme in the building, King Vonny eighty six in the building, Boxing and barbecue man in the building, Kia Allen in the building. The dirt game boss in the building. Hey, new Day, New Day. No music? Oh no, oh no, my mic been on my audio flo. It suck. That's what I get for not checking. Y'all should be able to hear the music now though, New Day, New Day. My audio been tripping. It stuck new Can y'all hear the music? So y'all couldn't hear my round of applause or nothing? Hey, it shut new Man, New Day, New Day. There we go, it's shut new. Man. I shown't hate that. I shouln't hate that my brother storm me be me in and say it's sun new salute to my brothers. Storm me be man. Y'all be sure to go subscribe, go check him out. If you check him out, then you're gonna know exactly what to do. So let me stop telling y'all to go subscribe, and let me tell you to go check him out. Because the choice this is then gonna be yours. Go check out my brother's stom me be man, go check him out. Just give him a chance. My sister said, I believe it's time for me to walk away from education. I'm waiting to stamp it. But I think they won. Now. They didn't win, you won. You won, And let me help you with this real quick. Let me help you. You're not walking away from education because you're an educator, you feel me. So for you to walk away from education means you will walk away from yourself. So you don't walk away. You're not gonna walk away from education because you're an educator. You're gonna repackage it, you feel me. You're going to figure out how to repackage the dope you understand. You're going to figure out how to repackage the dope. That's all. I'm an educator. Just because I left the college campus, I never stopped educating, you feel me. I never I ever stopped educating. Kid. I figured out a way to repackage the dope. That's it. That's it. You figure out a way to repackage the dope. But by request from my brother, Stormy be Man, my big brother said, don't be depriving us of the it's a new aid. So we're running back as far as I'm concerned. That's what we do when we own it. You feel me, a kid, you don't walk away from education because you're an educator. You just repackage it and you own it. You feel me, and then you own what it is that you're present into the world, what you're giving to the universe. You own it, and you put your own stamp on it, like you just said it. You stamp your own shit. That's it. But you can never walk away from education. It's impossible. Yeah, I got you. I shared it. I shared it, bro, and then I ended up having a run to go check out all my people. I'm gonna I'm gonna listen to as I get out of here there today I'm gonna go upstairs. And check them out. Hey, hey, hey, hey, you know I'm here for every conversation. It is about integrity, Stormy. You know that's a that's a that's a that's a Pewee's Playhouse word for me. Integrity. Man, I'm there. It's a new day, man. That feel good. That feel good. It's a new day. Apologies to everybody listening to the podcast. You didn't got the you didn't got to y'all have got the anthem twice. But salute to everybody listening to the podcast. My first love a lot familia, hashtag Junior, my fears, Salute to everybody that's catching the re play, replay gang and full of fact. Shout out to everybody. That's catching the stream live tip you too, watching you in the building. What's up with you? Love? New day, New day, It's so new. Yeah, get him sho. New day. It's sun. New day, New day. It's shun new day, New day. It's sun Man, new day, new day. It's sucked new ay man. Saluting my brother Shiny on the chat one time for the most intention of monorcycle on the planet. Man. Yeah, let's get to it. Lets he said, it's very uplifting, very uplifting. Yes, Lord, all right, man, So why everything feels heavy? Why everything feels heavy? People think energy problems come from doing too much. You understand what I'm saying, Like, that's the first thing that you think. When we start draining and we start feeling and we having a lack of energy, we say, man, I'm just doing too much. But the truth of the matter is the majority of the time is not the amount of work that you're doing as much as it's the lack of alignment. Salute the old school instantly in the building. What's up with your homie. It's the lack of alignment, you feel me. When your life is not aligned with your purpose, decisions are gonna feel harder, your tasks are going to feel heavier, your time is going to feel wasted, Key Allen, motivation is going to disappear. But we run that back because I got a feeling somebody need to hear this. When we look at our energy and our energy problems or our lack thereof, it's not attached to doing too much. It's not the amount of work that you're doing. It is the lack of alignment. When your life isn't aligned with your purpose. Your decisions are going to feel harder, your tasks are going to feel heavier, your time is going to feel wasted, and ultimately, your motivation is going to disappear. And it's not because you're weak, you feel me. We like to pass that off is being weak. It's not because you're being weak. It's because you're moving in the wrong direction. It's because you're moving in the wrong direction. Even small things feel exhausting when they don't fit with your purpose. You understand what I'm saying. So think about this for a second. I could be sitting here working on something that is my purpose, you feel me. I could be sitting there and I'm knee deep in working on I might be putting together the next show. I might be working on the book and ab what's up with JOHAMMI, and I'm putting together the anidote. You understand what I'm saying. I'm putting together the anidote. And I might get a phone call from my aunt and she breaks me away from this, and I will feel so exhausted by the conversation with my aunt, just because that moved me away from my purpose. At that moment. Talking to my aunt about what she talked wanted to talk to me about did not fit in what I had going on in this moment, and ultimately it impeded the progress toward my purpose. So it was exhausting. You understand what I'm saying. Yeah, So those those things, the decisions, feeling harder, task, feeling heavier time, feeling wasted, motivation disappearing. That's not because you're weak. That is simply because you're moving in the wrong direction. And when and when that happens, even the small things feel exhausting when they don't fit in with your purpose. I want you to I want you to get that in your spirit. I want you to feel that small things picking up a box, moving a box out the way feels exhausting when it doesn't fit with your purpose. I really want that to set in. The smallest, most minuscule of tasks feel exhausting when they don't fit your purpose. You feel me ab Let's talk about energy leaks. Energy leaks are things in your life that quietly drain you, quietly on the cool, low key. We kind of been talking about them all week. But things that drain you relationships that don't support who you becoming. You feel me. I told y'all, I hate to remember when. I feel like remember when is one of the those forms of conversations when I talk to a person and all they have to talk to me about is remember when means that they no longer know me, and so they that relationship does not support who I'm becoming, or shit, who I've actually become. You feel me because there are people who talk to me about stuff from the year of nineteen ninety nine. Shout out to Prince because we partied in nineteen ninety nine. You feel me, so you're talking to me about partying. Since nineteen ninety nine, I've become a father, I've become an educator. I've written books. I've launched the first ever black owned box of publication in the world, own a black gentleman grooming company. You feel me. I've I got married, I got kids, I got a house. You feel me. I don't have no dog, but shit, I've had a dog. You understand what I'm saying, like man, and it's just the mere fact of like when I talk to folks and they don't even know that I had a dog. My dog's name was Pharaoh. He was American bulldog. People don't know they missed the whole segment of my life where Pharaoh was here. You understand what I'm saying, nah, cause you don't know me. So that relationship, it is not supporting who I'm becoming. People like to keep you in a box that they feel comfortable having you in. Dasmond kunkin down my BCU family in the building. What's up with you? Tribe? Shit? People like to put you in a box and keep you there. But no, that relationship will drain you if it does not support who you're becoming. Don't don't let that go over your head. And that's every that's all of those relationships, all of those relationships that no longer support the person you're becoming. That's draining. All right, this is where we're gonna get. This is where we're gonna get. You feel me. Work that does not align with your values, Work that does not align with your values, that's draining. You know why you feel so dreamed going to work? It's not the work. The work is easy, you feel me. The organizational culture, eh No, it's the mere fact that it does not align with your values. And that's hard. That's hard. Hold on. Let's book mark this. My brother Phelix new name is Salu Homma. He said, Prince was lit in nineteen ninety nine. No, Prince was lit in nineteen eighty four, you feel me. But he had a song called nineteen ninety. Nine where he said and took two thousand zero zero party over it out of time. So tonight we're gunna party like it's nineteen ninety nine. So you gotta go listen to the nineteen ninety nine You probably heard it me folk, but so yeah, so Prince believed that we was gonna party like it was nineteen ninety nine, in nineteen eighty four or eighty three or whenever. That was unstand what I'm saying. So the reference to party because I, you know, I was, I was alive and kicking and moving and shaking in nineteen ninety nine, and so it was just so funny that nineteen ninety nine came and I was there, and so I always referenced that song. But in nineteen ninety nine, it was partying like Prince. Mm hm. Now back to the regularly scheduled program, Saluting my brother fush ay Man. When work doesn't align with your values is it drains you. Y'all come home drained because you just spent eight hours in a space exchanging your time for money in a situation that does not align with your values. Oo, then you wonder why we struggle with identity issues in an identity crisis. The world is in an identity crisis. Do you know that? Like we are in an identity crisis. That's a whole other conversation. Habits that contradict your goals because we have them. We have habits that contradict our goals. Man, I have a goal to lose weight and get and be a man and get and get be built like a brick shit house like I was in nineteen ninety nine. You feel me, However, Nigga, I like cookies. Cookies, cookie, cookie, cookie, cookie, cookie, cookie, cookies. I like cookies. I like big cookies, and I cannot lie like I love cookies. The only thing better than cookies it's some more cookies. I like cookies, cakes and pies, cake and pies, but I love cookies. Habits that contradict your goals will drain you, you feel me. Constant distractions will drain you. News flash, we live in a world of constant constant distractions. Salute to Thrive and Glow with Joe in the building. Y'all be sure to go check out Thrive and Glow with Joe. Just go check her out, and don't be over there gawking at her because she and her workout equipment in her workout gear. You feel me and y'all be trying to you know how y'all get man, don't be over don't damn it, I said, don't do it, but go check out Thrive and Glow with Joe. Man. Please salut to my brother Drew Titan. Man, be sure to go check out my brother Drew Titan. I'm not sending you to go go subscribe. No, go check him out. Give him a chance. If you haven't been over there, go give my brother a chance. Saluted my brother Drew Titan LLC in a building. What's up with you? Bro king? Vonnie said, fruit is better than cookies? You a lie? You my brother from another mother, But you lying it's better. Well, maybe I'm not there. Let me say that. Maybe I have to detop and get in line with my chakras and tap in with the ancestors. You feel me, and then fruit will become better than cookies, because right now, the only thing better than cookies is some new cookies. Look at old school Winstanly, he said, cookies and bourbon. And I'm not sorry. Fuck it, I'm happy. You feel me. Ab said, pizza and fried chicken is better than cookies. I don't know, man. My brother Drew time said thirty for thirty? What were doing? Thirty for thirty? What we're doing? Thriven glow with Joe is like laughing at a be Okay king, Vonnie, you got me, he said, cookies don't heal fruit. Dude, you're right, bro. Fruit is better than cookies. Man, Fruit is better than cookies. He is doing there and says fruit is healthier than cookies. But cookies taste more delectable. In my opinion, they taste more delectable. But my cookie habit contradicts my goals. Therefore it drains me. Man, it's heavy. It's heavy. You understand what I'm saying. It's heavy. Yeah, man, that was like some of the best times of my life is when my children were on the way. You understand what I'm saying. Like, man, when my children were on the way and my wife would have all those cravings and my oldest daughter's mom would have those cravings and then she would send me out to go hunt and gather cookies and cakes and pies and treats. Oh my god, Oh my god, but. Cookies don't heal. Saluting my brother King Vonnie for bringing some bringing some maturity to the conversation, because I'll get ready to go give me some damn cookies. Shed as soon as this was over, I was gonna give me some cookies, and I was gonna listen to Stormy and I was gonna as I listened to the Tuesday Night Tussle with my brother Stormy b Men scratch that. We'll go listen to Drew Titan first. Then I'm an hit Stormy b Man's Tuesday Night Tussle in between Drew Titan and the general You feel me salute to my LDBC family constant distractions. Tivy two said, hunt and gather. Yeah, you had to hunt and gather the treats for them pregnant women. Yes, Lord, these things that we talk about that drain your energy, these energy leaks, they create internal resistance. You understand what I'm saying, And resistance is exhausting. Think about it. You're resisting relationships that don't support who you're becoming. You feel inclined, especially when you come for where we come from, You feel inclined to hold on those to those relationships. You still want to be cool. You don't want to be all junior and change who we think he is. You don't want to be that person, so you struggle to hang on to those relationships though, even though those relationships do not support who you becoming. Right, you work because you gotta work. You gotta get money, and you got bills, so you work. But your work does not align with your goals. So there is a struggle. There is a resistance in there, the habits that contradict your goals. I want to lose weight, but I want to eat cookies. But I want to lose weight, but I want to eat cookies. I better get some fruit, like Jay Vonnie said, But I Nick, I like cookies. There is a struggle in there. There is a resistance in there. You feel me the world of constant distractions. I know I'm supposed to be working on this audio book, but damn they arguing on Twitter and it's jumping. These all of these things create an internal resistance, and that resistance is exhausting. You feel me. Everything that stuff makes everything exhausting. When your life is aligned, your effort feels different. When your life is aligned, everything feels different everything. So let me talk, Let me, let me bring this to y'all because I want to talk about purpose and burn out. Joe, thrive and go with y'all. I want to talk about. Purpose and burnout right, because most people think burnout is about working too much. You feel me, But the majority of the time burnout is uh A burnout comes from working without purpose. It comes from working without without purpose. You ever just did something and you just realize, Like, what the man, I'm trying not to curse, I'm trying to curse. I'm looking outside. We got a tornado watch and I'm looking outside, man, and it's looking a little tornado we outside. You feel me, if that's the word. You ever been doing something you just like, Man, wait a minute, man, Like what the you feel me? What the hell is the purpose of this? What the hell am I doing this? What in the world life for? Do it to you? You feel me? So many times burnout comes from working without purpose. You can work long hours on something meaningful, right, something that's meaningful, like when I get when I start like my book, when I start working on the book, and when I was working on the when I was working on the on the on the planner. Salute to everybody that got the Simple Truth Mini Manual, the One Hour Book, second Edition, written by Yours truly Junior, The Truth Shot. A double shot out to everybody that has the planner that accompanies the actual book. Salute to everybody has the Mini Manual Yearly Planner for the year twenty twenty six, which includes the self Mastery Blueprint. But when I was working on that, Joe, Literally, I'm like twelve hours at the computer. I get up to I get up to use the restroom, take a lap, and come back and sit back down straight and be energized. Go to sleep. I'm talking about, go to sleep three in the morning, back up at six, back on it. Far it up. When I'm working on the magazine, I can go to the library and I can go to I have a space in the library that I go. To because it's innovative. It's at Right State University, the Paul Owrence Dunbar Library at Right State University. I go up to the third floor and I go back in the corner and they have a wooden model byplane that is suspended from the ceiling. I sit under the biplane and I work for hours and hours and hours. I can be there for hours and hours and nours. I want to give you your fly was hours on and on and on and on and on. I set up shop, I got my I got my two computers up. I got my headphones in. I got my backup headphones in. I got all my chargers, got my extension cord, got my notebooks. The same thing happened when I was in graduate school. I sit up there with all my books, my papers, my highlighters. You feel me, and I'm working, and I can be there. I'm not bullshitting. I can do eight to ten hours straight sitting there. I show up with my with my Subway sandwich, my or my or my Chipotle bowl. I got my gallon of water, and I'm there, and the only thing I do to get up is get up and go use the restroom. You feel me and come back. You can work for hours and be energized. When you're is meaningful. You feel me and it feels effortless. However, without meaning, effort becomes exhausting when it comes to work, and that's where the burnout comes from. The burnout does not come from the amount of work you're doing. I want to make this clear. The burnout comes from the work lacking purpose. You feel me. That's where you get burnt out because there's something in your psyche where you are engineered for fulfillment. So when you're doing something that is not fulfilling to you personally, you like and whatever. You understand what I'm saying. But when you're doing something and it's not purposeful or it's not lined up with your purpose, it then becomes exhausting and you burn out. That's where the burnout comes from. That's where the burnout comes from. We use words like burnout, that's where the burnout comes from. And so with regard to how do we what do we? What do we do with that? Right? This is why it's important that we come in here and we talk about alignment. You feel me because this is the good news, right, give you some news you could use. Alignment restores your energy. When you're aligned with your purpose, your decisions become simpler. Wonder where we heard that before? Your focus becomes easier. You feel me. And the distractions lose their power. And once the distractions lose their power and your focus becomes easier and decisions become simpler, then your energy is going to return. Then your energy is going to return. I watched Joe's video the other day, Salute to Joe, and Joe took a day off from work because she's talked about how she wasn't feeling it, like I just wasn't feeling it. I wasn't really feeling myself. I just don't I didn't really feel my best, and so I took a day and didn't go to work. You know what Joe did. Joe took her ass to the gym. Joe took her ass to She didn't go to work because she wasn't feeling it. But Joe took her ass to the gym. And had a workout that appeared to be a good She had a good workout. You understand what I'm saying because it's aligned with her purpose. It's aligned with her purpose, decisions become easier, your energy returns, you feel me, distractions lose their power, your focus is easier, and when you're moving with the direction instead of resistance, it all lines up. Man it all lines up. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah because his purpose just you know, purpose does not only guide your life. It's not only your guide in life. It also protects your energy. Alignment will restore your energy, and your purpose will protect it every trip, every trip, every trip, every trip, y'all go over to Thrive and Glow with Joe and check out that video. I don't know if it was joby upload and I don't know if it was her last video now, but it was a video where she. My brother Drew Titan. He said that. Drew is another one, Drew says. Drew says, I have absolutely taken the day off and spent the work day in the gym. Drew is another one. Drew just posted a workout video. Y'all go check out Drew training. It all lines up there. The energy is restored. Salute. My sister kids said. Okay, Joe, I left for yesterday early because I wasn't feeling it. I went straight to the gym. Yeah yeah yeah. Purpose doesn't just guide your life, it protects your energy. Yeah. So here's a simple reflection question you can ask yourself this. Ask yourself, does my current life match who I'm becoming? My current life like your day to day life currently doesn't match who I'm becoming. Yeah, not who you used to be, not who people expect you to be, you feel me, but who you are becoming does your current life match that? And misalignment. Misalignment often shows up when your identity changes but your environment doesn't you feel me. I just told y'all got to stop with the old. People, places, and things when you're becoming a new when you're doing a new thing, like when you're doing a new thing, you gotta do do a new thing. When you're doing a new thing, you gotta do a new thing, because if you don't, you just bullshit. You feel me. If we gonna do a new thing, we gotta do a new thing. Things have to becoming new, and you ain't. And I know nobody wants to be that person. Nobody wants to be that. He didn't change man, he tripping, he man, You know he didn't change man. Nobody wants to be funny acting on. Well, y'all don't want to be funny acting. I don't give a motherfuck. I'm trying not to do all this custom I don't care. I don't give a shit about I used to I don't care about how people feel about me changing and evolving and me pursuing the mastery of myself. I don't give a damn like people. I don't I don't care. I don't care. He funny acting, you know, he thinks he better than he's you know, cal be acting snooty now, but good? Yes, I do you feel me? All you gotta do is go listen to the great American philosophers Primrose Smith and mjg. All you gotta go do is listen to them. They got a song called Things on the I think it was Space Station Forever album where they say things we used to do, we can't do no more. You feel me places I used to go, I don't even go. Nah Man, shit changes. Yeah, So at the end of the day, don't leave this. This is the most This is the most pinnacle piece of everything were talking about. Misalignment will often show up when your identity changes but your environment doesn't. How the hell are you going to change your identity but your environment doesn't change? You feel me? You're going to be misaligned. You're going to be misaligned, and that in and of itself is going to create friction, which in and of itself is going to drain your energy. You feel, and that is the whole purpose of what we're saying today. You are not tired, You're just missaligned. You gotta shake that shit loose. You gotta stop having them bullshit conversations. You gotta stop having them bullshit relationships. You gotta stop finding yourself in them bullshit. I ain't gonna say they bullshit places, bullshit relationships. Scratch, don't scratch it, keep it, but let me rephrase it. You gotta stop finding yourself in these spaces that don't match who you're becoming. You feel me, I go out, I work, I come home. I was just talking to the God about this last night because the guy I'm gonna tell his business the Goud just got an invitation to a surprise birthday party that starts Friday night at nine o'clock. You feel me, and he like, man, I don't really want to go and blah blah blah. And I'm telling you like guy is the greatest K through twelve educator in the world. You feel me, and he is he is. I'm telling him, egg Dog. You go from Sunday to Friday, you understand what I'm saying. Of giving, given, given, given given. That's just life, That's how it goes. You understand what I'm saying. So you have to feel comfortable declining invitations that don't fit. I know you want to be there for people, and you want to show people love and so on and so forth, but there are things that you have to do that you absolutely cannot compromise on, and you have to do those for yourself. When your identity changes but your environment stays the same, misalignment is gonna show up, period, point blank in the discussion. And the misalignment is what is zapping your energy and making you think that you're tired. You're not tired. Your ass is misaligned. Yeah, now here's the truth. I want you to remember. You don't always need more rest. Sometimes you need more alignment because when your life matches your purpose, energy returns naturally. When your life matches your purpose, energy is going to return naturally. When your life matches, your purpose, energy is going to return naturally. Sometimes in life, you don't need more rest, you need more alignment. And I feel like, I gotta go back and say this, What does alignment look like? Alignment means I said it up here? What did I say? Well, I'm a paraphrase it because I can't find an exact urbage. You stop doing things that don't agree with your purpose. You stop doing things that are not aligned with your purpose. You stop doing things that are not aligned with your purpose. You stop doing places that are not aligned with your purpose. You stop doing people that are not aligned with your purpose. You stop doing things that are not aligned with your purpose. You stop doing places that are not aligned with your purpose. You stop doing people that are not aligned with your purpose. Boy, this shit sound like self mastery, don't it. You stop doing things that are not aligned with your purpose. You stop doing places that are not aligned with your purpose. You stop doing people that are not aligned with your purpose. That's it, because when your life matches your purpose, energy returns naturally and you have all the energy that you have to do all the things that you need to do that are in line with your purpose. You stop fighting yourself and you start moving forward. This is the Black Coffee Club man, the most consistent morning circle on a planet. And around here, man, we don't drift.
