The older I get, the less interested I am in making life unnecessarily complicated. Simplicity has been promoted in my life.
Generation X has accumulated a lot — responsibilities, relationships, possessions, obligations, opinions, distractions, expectations. And without realizing it, we've built lives that take an incredible amount of energy just to maintain.
Does this need to be this complicated?
Simplicity doesn't mean no ambition. It doesn't mean avoiding responsibility.
It means becoming intentional about what deserves your time, attention, energy, and access. Fewer obligations. Less noise. Clearer priorities. Better systems. Stronger standards. More room for what actually matters.
Maybe your next level doesn't require adding something else. Maybe it requires the courage to remove what no longer belongs.
The second half doesn't have to get more complicated just because you've accumulated more. You can simplify. Less really is better.
