Pay attention to patterns.
Watch how people treat others when there's nothing to gain. Listen to what they repeatedly show you. Stop allowing charm, titles, familiarity, status, or proximity to override your judgment.
You can be compassionate without being naïve.
You can believe in people without ignoring what they consistently demonstrate.
And sometimes protecting your peace requires accepting an uncomfortable truth about somebody you allowed into your space.
Everybody doesn't deserve access to you.
It's simply a thought.
