Social media feels real.
The arguments feel real. The likes feel real. The criticism feels real. The followers, comments, outrage, validation, and attention can all feel incredibly important.
But here's the question:
What if we've confused social media with actual reality?
In Day 021 of Just a Thought... w/ Junior, Junior reflects on our relationship with social media and why we should remember that these platforms are ultimately an augmented version of real life.
People curate what you see.
Algorithms decide what gets amplified.
Numbers become measures of importance.
Strangers suddenly have opinions that influence how we feel about ourselves.
And before long, something happening on a screen can carry more emotional weight than what's happening inside our homes, relationships, careers, and communities.
That's dangerous.
Self-Mastery requires knowing the difference between the digital world and the life you're actually responsible for living.
Social media can be useful. It can connect, entertain, educate, and inspire.
But it shouldn't become your reality.
Put the phone down occasionally.
Look around.
Talk to somebody.
Live somewhere the algorithm can't follow you.
Because your real life is still happening—even when you're offline.
It's simply a thought.
