By definition, loyalty is steadfast faithfulness to a person, group, country, or belief. The danger is that people change, institutions shift, and conditions evolve. When you remain blindly loyal to someone or something that no longer reflects your principles, loyalty stops being a virtue and becomes stupidity.
Uncritical loyalty without the ability to think critically will get you played every single time. Audit your loyalties, check the balance sheet, and stop giving your steadfast devotion to people and situations that don't deserve your attention.
