When someone shows deep reverence to people with status or leverage, but treats service workers, the vulnerable, or everyday people with cold indifference or disrespect, that tells you everything you need to know. There is a quiet, inherent evil in only extending decency when there is an angle or an advantage attached to it.
I grant or revoke access to my life based on how you handle other people. If you misuse people on the margins, it is only a matter of time before you bring that same disorder to your spouse, your children, and your circle.
Lead with respect in every interaction. When you lead with respect as an uncompromising baseline, you have zero hesitation in shutting down disrespect the moment it shows its face.
